what does that mean?
i know about the regions(region 1 , 2 , 3 etc...) but does it mean that a EURO PAL backup would work on a UK PAL ?

Yes all Europe is PAL... That means if you own a PAL system, any PAL games will work no matter what country you got it from..

The PAL region is divided a little bit, The Security Sectors from France don't work on UK dumps, etc, and the NL (Holland) is different again, and so is Germany.
There seems to be at least six SS areas within the PAL region.

You have to use the SS that came with your orignal game and it will play so he doesn't get confused. The reason there different is because theres different xex's for different languages.

Of course you gotta use the SS that came with the game... Thats the same in every region..

hmm so i am getitng confused now.
all games work as long as its the same region (PAL or NTSC) and have the correct country's SS code? so if i replace my SS from my EURO PAL with the SS from the UK PAL, it would work in the UK but not in Belgium ?

All PAL games work on all PAL machines, as long as they are make complete from the Original.
So a UK SS needs to be placed on the UK VER of that game, and so on.
If the backup plays on your PAL machine, it will play on your friends machine which is also PAL

so the fact that he has a UK xbox which also plays UK games has nothing to do with it. every PAL game(EURO , UK , AUSTRALIA) will work on whatever PAL console ?

If the backup is a WORKING backup, it will work on all PAL machines no matter where is was purchased.
It just a little harder in making that first WORKING PAL backup, best if you are in a PAL country to get a Toshiba/Samsung drive with the Xtrm0800 firmware loaded, and DUMP the SS and GAME yourself from your original to make sure it will be a WORKING backup.
