Long story short, I was trying to update my 8955 with 9199 and I downloaded the pre made nands found on this forum.  I ended up getting a red and green blinking light (I was on xellous at the time).  I ended up then flashing to the 8955 bin and now I still have the red and green BUT I lost xellous and now have xell!  Problem is, when I try to flash via usb, the xell does not read it and I can't flash anymore.

Can someone tell me how to flash my 8955 to 9199 via xell (freeboot .32)?  Thanks!

So I downloaded the Debian Live CD and it works on my xbox.  I get a prompt where it tells me I have a couple of options like xbrflash.  Now I believe I can flash using this tool right?  Problem is I'm not entirely sure what to do next.  At this point I would just like to get xbr back on there so I can play games again (or attempt the freeboot update via flash360).

Any suggestions?

EDIT - figured out how to flash with the cd (using linx commands) however although it said it flashed, when I reboot i get the same issue (red/green light when I boot normally).  I was using the 8955 xenon _3 bin.  Trying 1 and 0 now.

EDIT 2 - the flash def worked b/c now my 8955 is v1 (eject doesn't work for xell, I now have to use the controller to power on).  I'm going to try and put back 8955 xenon v3 and see what happens).  Problem seems to be I can't get back into the actual dashboard.  Can I use a freeboot.bin and flash with this CD or just the xbr images?

1- What type your xbox is ex. xenon,falcon,jasper16,jasper256,jasper512 Huh
2- Do you know your cpu key ??
3- Did you inject your KV ??
4- What code do you get (secondary code) : http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/Xbox-360-error-codes.htm

Hi!

Xenon
Yes
I used one of the donar KVs so not sure if it was injected!
The red lights blink on top two then bottom two (so it's top two red and bottom two green, then vice versa) - goes back and forth.  EDIT - I can confirm this is referred to as christmas lights.

Here's the latest - I ended up flashing with the freeboot 32 .bin I made using the donors from the major thread provided here.  That got me back to xellus and out of xell!  That's good - problem is I STILL can't get into a dashboard however I can now flash using a usb which is a lot easier then the disc.

What do you think it is?  Again, it flashed fine with the 9199 freeboot but it just got me back to xellous and not a bootable dashboard.

EDIT _ HOLY CRAP I am back in!  Dashboard works as I used my backup and reflashed it under the new xellous and it worked.  It's still 8955 (I want to go to 9199) but I'm back in.  Sweet!  Now, where did I go wrong?  who knows but what do you suggest as a fail safe way of getting this to 9199?

SUCCESS - I used the normal flash360 guide and MADE sure to select do not keep KV:  See below

Step One: Knowing Where You Went Wrong
There is a wide variety of things you could've messed up on. The process is one that needs to followed EXACTLY or you'll end up screwing up your JTAG. What I did was a careless mistake. When you open flash 360, you are supposed to choose "Write updflash.bin to NAND" then "Raw flash without keeping current KV/config" then "ignore and continue" and "start". So, if you do it correctly the button sequence is:
Code:

A -> B -> Start -> Start -> A
