That is it. I did the jtag on my falcon. Everything went fine, used latest xbr, played with emulators, etc. Happy times. So I decided one day "it is time to ensamble the console" so when I pushed the dvd drive down, the xbox 360 didnīt turn on any light, and I could not check if it was e79 at the time. Lifted the drive a little and yes!! All fine. I cutted the flash wire to make space for closing the console. (ARGH)  "Letīs try lowering the drive again"... two of the jtag wires got loose. I soldered all again. Now it turns on the center light, but throws me an E79 error! Checked all the jtag wiring with a tester, from the lower of the motherboard to the front, etc. The diodes gave me a number around 590-600. I donīt remember if that was normal, but hey, they are transmiting power. Is it possible that when some wire touched something, my nand memory got corrupted? I saw in other forums that flashing your original nand is good to try. Thanks for any help.

now that gave a chill to my spine is there a way to test if the southbridge is working fine?

Soldering the legs together on the underside works great. They are not going anywhere. Nothing to be nervous about.

E79 could be your JTAG install is a little flaky, or it could be other software corruption. Hopefully it's not damage to the southbridge. I suggest starting simple. First, hook up your LPT/USB interface, and confirm you can still detect the flash controller. If so, you can try reflashing your XBR image that you used before. If it was simple nand corruption, this might work. If you cannot detect the flash controller, attempt a flash recovering using hte pin shorting method. Some google searching will find instructions for this. If the problem still persists, flash your original nand and see if it boots. If this does not work, remove all of your JTAG wiring and see if it will boot then.

I tried nandpro with the xbox 360 plugged but turned off. It detects nothing.

I tried nandpro with the xbox 360 plugged but turned off. It detects nothing. Bad wiring is the only thing that comes to mind. Can you post some pictures of your wiring showing in detail all the connections you made and the cable you are using. Use a camera that can take decent macro pics.

Ok! Got back from electronics store. I just checked my nand flasher wires. One was loose. I checked again all the resistors, 100 ohm, fine.
Nandpro is aware! Now begins the slooow sloooow dump. It will be all night long.
Hope a bad nand flash is the problem. Will come with news tomorrow. Also, we may learn something from this.

ALLRIGHT!
I flashed my original nand image and the xbox 360 booted!
The problem must have been a false contact that wrote fake bytes in my nand memory, screwing up the boot process and giving me E79.
Now I decided to update. I had the latest XBR and now I will go for freeboot 0.32
Hoping my new jtag wires work.
Thanks for any help and will post here if I have success with freeboot.

No luck with freeboot. Seems like bad Jtag wiring.
I have a tester for conductivity. Seems weird, hope it is just one wire not connecting or something

OOk I did the new alternative Jtag soldering. STILL E79  I used flux, wire cutter, isoprophilic alcohol, the solder points look great, bright and round, but NOTHING; NADA!!! Will try reflashing again, DAAAMMIT.

Re-checked the solder points for the new jtag method flashed freeboot premade nand from this board, E79 flashed latest XBR, with my injected KV, got E79 Tomorrow I will flash my original nand again Seems like I lost my jtag chance, but I canīt find out why. Damn. Some false contact? What can it be? including photos: (there was some flux, I already cleaned it and tried again with no luck)

I see a huge blob of flux between 2 points under your resistors.. you should clean that off. Also your using 300ohm resistors not 10k like the guide says lol...

Since you already hooked the transistors, why not try to "add" the 330ohm resistors on top of the existing 10k resistors ? And to save you time with the testing, use the 1.3MB hack image for testing. There's no need to flash over and over because once it's booting into XeLL you know that the JTAG wising is good.
