Hi,

I'm try to backup "Harry Potter Lego Years 1-4" game.

First, I use wxRipper and with an hotswap I can read ISO file correctly.

Then, I use agbx360 for to fix it, and it tell me that it is a wave6 format.

So, I try to burn a DVD, but it don't work   :-(

My xbox have a Benq reader, but I don't my iXtreme version. I know only that backup game with wave2 works correctly.

So, I have tried to change wave6 to wave2 with 360WavesPatcher program, but after patch, if I use again agbx360, it tell me that the game is very new, so it need at least wave4 format.

What I need to do ??

Many thanks for your answers and excuse me for my english

Invest in a kreon samsung drive or a cheap 360 sammy and flash it with 0800 FW to backup your originals works flawlessly every time, and backs the game up correctly so no need to fix anything

wxripper is an outdated app/method of ripping games

also update your fw to remove the need for boot discs or any of this patching crap

Gaz, is the Sammy better at ripping than other 360 drives for some reason, or did you mention it because it was cheaper?

from what i have read, kreon drives can sometimes return a bad angle for rips

to quote the man himself in the following thread

http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=11927.0

"Let's put this bad angle thing to rest! There's no such thing as a bad Kreon rip of any kind, but it is true, that the problem is/was more likely to occur, with images created using a 'Kreon drive'.

The reason for this, is that only angles of 0-359 degrees can occur in real life situations, and an unfortunate combination of adding jitter without doing an overflow check in the early versions of the iXtreme firmwares, could cause angles of 360 degrees or more to be returned.  There are four angles stored in the SS, but only one of them has the potential to cause the problem. This one specific angle always takes a value close to 359, which could cause the older iXtreme firmwares to fail due to the missing overflow check in the jitter calculations. The only real reason for Kreon rips to fail more often than others, is that the angle in question is very likely to take the value of 359 degrees, when using a Kreon drive, while values in the range of 355-357 degrees are seen for most games ripped using a 0800 drive. Adding jitter (+1 or -1 typically) to 355-357 can not cause the resulting angle to overflow, while adding jitter to 359 can cause the angle to overflow and return an angle of 360 degrees or more.

All Kreon firmwares relies on fixed angle values, since they never really change much. This is true for all known games to date, but that is likely to change in the future, in which case the 'Kreon drives' will face quite a challenge. There's no doubt that the 0800 firmware will produce the best possible rips, as the angles mentioned above will be based on calculations instead of fixed values. This is, however, only a problem if the protection scheme is changed, so for now there's no need to panic - you can still use your Kreon drives for your everyday ripping  Smiley

I'm sorry, I was aware of the Kreon limitations already.  Let me clarify.  I meant are the Samsung drives better somehow at reading than other 360 drives, such as the benq or liteon?  Or did you suggest the "cheap sammy" simply because they are cheaper than a liteon would be?

oh ok sorry

to be honest for all the drive is required to do, its pretty much the same

i have always had a 'soft' spot for samsung hardware, almost everything i own is a samsung

the benq and liteon could be quieter than the sammy, but all should perform pretty much the same

price is again a factor, but again the drives are all about the same price, in fact the sammys might be harder to get now that they are not in production any more.
