For those of you worried about updating: RichDevX tweeted today that he will be able to port psgroove to all firmware versions before 3.42

Welp...bought me a ps3 today, 80 gig, hdmi, wifi, card readers, 4 usb slots, switch on the back, 3.41 system I cant believe the size of these things, and the weight...fug me, must be 15-20 pounds. First time i actually physically packed one of these things around. I got her from a local pc repair shop, whom replaced the entire BR-drive (not just the laser(s). Customer never came back. $200 CAD, nice clean console, wireless controller and game. Now i just gotta figure out how to run this rig...let alone jailbreak it. BTW...I would have never bought this machine if it wasnt for this JB exploit in the wild. Sony will make some money off me in the way of accessories, extra controllers, etc... So it really is good on them

@poolshark021. Blimey! Talk about serendipity. Just when I've been asking about old firmwares too. Cheers. Not sure if I'm allowed to link in the thread, but if you go to psx-scene.com, the top article seems to confirm this. AHippyHop

does anyone think it wwould be possible to come up with a file format for games like wbfs (wii backup format made by waninkoko i think. it strips out the unneeded padding files) or cso like dark alex made for the psp? the reason i ask is because BD games take up hella space and i think that would be a nice feature for this system

Huh? -- If he replaced the entire BR-Drive, it would never play any games or movies! The BR-Drives are married to the motherboard, and even with this less then a month old Jailbreak device, no one figure out how to by-pass that yet!

Or maybe PS3RIP Kits like the early days of PSP. I Think you`ll need a custom firmware or something flashed to the nand for something like CSO

D2Prog to D2Groove. (PIC18F2450) There is no need to fix the cut after programming. Enjoy

NTFS would be the way forward would that be for the ability to have files 4gb>? Or is it for some reason that's beyond my comprehension of the ps3 and its innerworkings?

No problem, I edited my post above, but the quality of the images is still bad...Nokia cams! This is actually like the teensy board! The button is for upgrading the firmware on the controller. It will boot the Atmel DFU Bootloader if you press the button. Just tell me if you want the EAGLE schematic & board, but this is actually hard to solder. The SMD parts are size 0603. Casio

Indeed seems hard to solder, I'm working in the 2550 Pic version, but your design is so cute, I would like to work on a copy for myself. If you're so gentle, please...

My friend just picked up the D2groove, hi says it is running fine with his set up. PSGrooPIC1.3_noBTL_12MHz_20MHz_C0_B0_B1_MCLR_compiled_by_MP.zip --> 18Fx550-12mhz-RC0.hex --> crystal to 16mhz -->flash. http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65863Other codes can work also... NoMcrl no 10k resistor... Edit3: PM me if you know where i can buy these D2prog´s. (5PCS)
