Hellow,

After some reading around: http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=13433.0 I've come to the conclusiong that the 93450c has the same hardware as the 74850c.

Now yesterday some guy asked me to flash his liteon drive. He had a 93450c so I kindly said to him that I had no experience with this drive and unless he wanted me to practice my non soldering skills (although it was fine when jtagging my xenon but a disaster on a jasper for point DB1F1  Undecided) on his board without any dvd key, he's better of going to a hacking store.

Now I have a liteon drive from whom I already have the dvd key. Is it possible to put firmware 93450c on this board and practice my soldering skills and cutting techniques to find a spoofed dvd key???

You can read the 74850 firmware with the RMA methos as well. No need to flash 93450 firmware. If you can read the 74850 with RMA then it also works on other LiteOn firmwares

So correct me if I'm wrong, in 93450c it is not necessary to close r707 but you'll have to do the RMA hack???

So conclusion: The possibilities to read 74850 is or the RMA hack or closing r707. It all depends of the firmware? Or am I missing out something here?

Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't you get the dvd key from all 74850c drives just be shorting r707 ??

But I do not think you guys understand the question

What I'm trying to achieve:

1. Put firmware 93450c on a 74850c drive to dissable the r707 hack.
2. Create rma method
3. Try to find the dvd key with the rma hack. <= just as a learning process for real 93450c (I already have my own dvd keys)

This is all I want to try, nothing more, nothing less...

Rolf2: After reading your answer a couple of times I believe I finally understand it. The keyword in there was reading the entire firmware, wasn't it.

With shortening r707 it is only possible to read the dvd key, not the firmware. So if you do rma method you could read the entire firmware???

Is this correct, if it is... Very cool and thnx for all the help!!!

the MRA method of dumping a liteon can be done on all models of liteon irregardless of firmware etc on the board

as you have said the previos method of dumping the 7XXX and 8XXXV1 was to get the key, serial, and inquiry only not a full dump of the original FW
