I had similar problems in falcons, you have to put bat41 diode between 4,7 pins on J2D2 and take off power cord when rrod is flashing, after reboot, and if you are lucky your console will be alive.

Always when you jtag falcon consoles must give diode not only jumper, it is easy to fry console without it.

You won't fry a console by using a jumper between those particular pins.  You're just tying off the reset to a 1.8V rail.

It's debatable whether putting a resistor/diode instead of a wire helps.  I can't see how it does anything but enough people swear it fixes unbootable consoles means you shouldn't' dismiss it entirely.

or, leave the mobo's screws a little loose, if it turns on, you're gonna need a reflow sooner

i have 2 consoles with the same condition. 1 jasper 256 and a falcon. at what point is the cpu postcode set? i read on free60 about reading the postcode from the cpu jtag points, but it looks like you can only do that if you dont get rrod. also is there a good thread which describes the cpu postcodes?

After a flash at times, always disconnect the supply and return;)

Have tried to new jtag wiring (smc fixed) with some result.
but not try to reflow the gpu/cpu yet.
