and was woundering if i could detect the drive with this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815124022

You still have to open the 360-case to reach the DVD-drive.

Hmmm, do you have to open the 360 or does it plug in as shown on the pics?

That's the case around the Hard Disc.

The original question was about flashing the Hitachi-drive. You still have to open the case to reach the power and SATA connector on the DVD-drive.
