I´d love to get my hands on one of the new drives and especially the board, too. But as europe will get the slims just in a month I´ll have to be patient...

not to mention we don't need this kind of threads, for someone to be the first to post pictures.. it's not like this suggestive thread will make people wanna post pics -for you- anytime quicker
if anything, posting threads like this will make people not post them
plus this was posted in the wrong section, how long have you been here to not have learned rules.. ie break them? read rules or get out.. this is anything but techical related to the new slim dvd-rom drive

I doubt ms would still allow dumping of the firmware by shorting some pin. Since the 'decap in acid' story was bull$#!t anyways, this might be the first unhackable drive.

I understand. You found paradise in America, you had a good trade, you made a good living. The police protected you and there were courts of law. And you didn't need a friend like me. But, uh, now you come to me, and you say: "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me Godfather. Instead, you come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married, and you ask me to do murder for money.

and because of that fake shot. it brought out LT.. just decapping makes a electronics person say,WTF that's is so understandable in the paths of micro... so anyone that can just build this out of a fake pic like photoshop must of been the freaken maker of the ic.... way to much understandable routed detail.... believe it or not, it's freaking real....

MS/Mediatek aren't that f***ing stupid. They fixed the pin lift I can almost guarantee it. If they didn't, I'll be amazed. From what I was told, 83450v2 and 93450 didn't have any method of DVD key retrieval. All other firmwares, from Samsung ms25 and Hitachi 46 all the way to Liteon 83450v1 MS had more or less a method to retrieve the DVD key from the DVD drive. 83450v2 and 93450 pop up, and they remove the DVD key commands. So now D4S is on the scene, I'm assuming it's the same deal. So onwards to finding another software/hardware glitch to get the key, if there aren't any, we're f***ed. If they went to a ROM chip, we're f***ed. I'd *hope* MS got it right on this drive, but instinct tells me C4E and the guys will outsmart MS again, because I don't see MS fixing it fully. I mean come on, the new slim STILL has Xclamps, so MS can't fully fix anything, but only time will tell. Every asshole will put in their 2 cents i.e. either f*** MS C4E WILL HACK IT or IT'S UN-H4XXXX4BL3!!!!!!!!!! so reading these threads is pointless unless scanning for posts by Modfreakz, C4E, Germania, Redline99, and any other people who know what the f*** they're talking about. Until then stock up on Jaspers and $#!t, because these aren't (at least presumably) going to be hacked for a while if ever. Suck it up. Or buy your f***ing games....always an option.

yeah lowering the default reading speed from 12x to let's say 5x, would really let GTA4 (or any of your games) benefit from way less popups and loading times.

I'm still amazed how many people on this forum are concerned with playing games.
Firmware hacks are not needed anymore. They haven't been needed since we stopped using the King Kong disk.
That is all I will say/read about the subject.

thats great for exploitable consoles, but until an expoit is found for the current kernal there is no other way to play backups, so the topic will continue.

Just looking at your sig..... I'm guessing if anyone had any acid, it wouldn't last long with you about.

In the big liteon secrets thread I asked if it was really that simple to dump the firmware by shorting a pin instead of the de-capping the controller in acid. http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=12956.msg88196#msg88196Since Iriez replied it with yes I assumed that the whole acid story was bull$#!t anyways. But I didn't mean to start the drama all over. I just follow the easy-to-solder diagrams you guys make for us And the kind of acid I use isn't going to help with de-capping anyways:p

Look you f***ing assholes, they didn't know you could dump the FW by shorting a pin until AFTER they f***ing decapped the chip and looked inside and saw how everything worked. You don't know if you can hotwire a car until you take it all apart and study the electrical system of the car. f***ing assholes, you think they went around shorting and lifting pins until they got a dump? How f***ing dumb can you be, they decapped the chip, and that's how they figured out that you could pinlift for a dump. Assholes.
