After much and more research I've garnered the following conclusions:

Spoofing: Using the key from one DVD player on another DVD player (of a different model?)
It is extremely unsafe to use a spoofed DVD player on Live as your OSIG data will not match and they can see your hacking with a very simple inquiry.
There is no reason to spoof a different DVD model, you should get the same DVD type if your drive breaks to replace it.

Now I don't know how accurate those statements are if they are incorrect please correct me!

Here's a bit of the fun I'm experiencing:

My Original DVD player is a Lite-On 93450, I have extracted the key but the drive seems to be a lost cause. I've even replaced the laser on the drive and it will not read any discs, the firmware is flashed correctly I even re-flashed it to be sure.
So.. My friend had a BenQ VAD6038 drive which he wasn't using. He nicely donated it to me which I then flashed with my key.
Now here is where the confusion sets in:
I have 2 sets of original firmware plus the key.bin from my original:
Liteon.bin (original dead drive)
key.bin (key from original)
BENQ-OFW.bin (new replacement from friend)

I also have the BenQ and Lite-On v1.1 IXtreme

I am spoofing the BenQ with my lite-on information via JungleFlasher, here are the Variations of the tests:
(in each run I clicked Manual Spoofing and loaded my key.bin file, I never got an inquiry.bin file as I believe these are for the older liteons, not the 93450)

Test 1:
Source Firmware: BenQ-OFW.bin
Target Firmware: ix-ltv1.1-benq.bin
Spoofed as: PLDS DG-16D2S 9345

Test 2:
Source Firmware: BenQ-OFW.bin
Target Firmware: ix-ltv1.1-benq.bin
Spoofed as: Nothing! Only Spoofed key.bin

Test 3:
Source Firmware: liteon.bin
Target Firmware: ix-ltv1.1-benq.bin
Spoofed as: PLDS DG-16D2S 9345

Test 4:
Source Firmware: liteon.bin
Target Firmware: ix-ltv1.1-benq.bin
Spoofed as: Nothing! Only Spoofed key.bin

All of these have to same result:
They all work perfectly.
So my question is which method is correct?
And do i need to use the inquiry.bin for accurate lite-on spoofing even if I have the 93450?

Test #3 seems to look like the safest bet in my guess but any clarification would help!

I'm too lazy to read all of it...

You're going on live, buy the laser and replace it, or, buy the hole unit, but switch the controller board.

Very good to know but my inquiry is regarding which spoofing method is correct?
As I said every method works but there has to be an intended way of doing this.

I'm not concerned with Live in this thread whatsoever, I simply stated that it was extremely unsafe.
I'm already familiar with the risk of playing on live once your modded.

Ahhhhhh...

Making a big thread, to be sure you're not gonna get banned from playing totally unplugged from live!?
you're a genius!

Spoof if whatever is possible you're gonna stay offline...

You will be Ok with that BenQ drive, as long as you can play still play games and not going online, you should be ok.

none of you got my point, none of your methods above will spoof f*** all

JF DOES NOT SPOOF OSIG DATA FOR LT FIRMWARE

the reason your console does not throw an E65 is that m$ stopped it from doing so after kernal version 8955.

If he's gonna stay offline, and he's still trying to spoof LT, he's just retard.

Use 1.6 nonstealth, no point in using LT in this case.

if its for offline he can use any fw post 1.61, and spoofing is irrelevant

my point is that hes worrying about spoofing LT when it cant be done anyways.

your problem with drive prob may be from a bad repair job for the MRA hack to read out the drive

for a legitimate box replace the drive with the same model and flash it correctly with key only

use 1.61 spoof correctly and be banned if go online

use LT and no spoof and be ok until november most likely

Sounded to me like he was going to go online, but accepted the risks and just wanted to minimize them.  If he wasn't, why else would he even bother with all of this?

FWIW: Its only LiteOn LT that isnt spoofable, BenQ LT is.

Which, has also been said 100 times before.

Whoa....
Damn guys you should all relax, my post wasn't created to cause all these bad emotions.
I don't have to defend why I'm not asking about live, it's a silly thing to debate.
I simply wanted clarification on which method is correct when they all seem to be correctly functioning.
If no one knows that's o.k. too.

All are wrong !

buy a Lite-on and flash it.... end of.... ****OR**** keep the money you save for a new console in November Smiley

Benq CPU is about 1/3 the speed of a lite-On, so it will perform and respond much slower than a Lite-On drive, this is "Noticeable"
