Microsoft has apparently dished out a few stats about power requirements, but I've not seen this referenced anywhere other than X-S, so the accuracy may be questionable.

Idle: 1W, Peak: 135W. Source: http://www.gamerzines.com/xbox-360/news/new-xbox-360-power-consumption.html

slim360

seem we might be starting out on the 9199 dash .maybe?

have to figure CPU/GPU is now 1 ..
so less wattage but  more Mosfet's guiding the steady current...

12V and 10,83A, so 135W sounds plausible.

There's a spec sheet that is being handed out with the slim 360s that MS gave away at their E3 briefing, that states the CPU and GPU are on the same die and using 45nm, so seems to confirm what we thought Smiley As for the dash I've heard from a Microsoft rep that the slims are only shipping with 9199 as the Kinect enhanced dash isn't actually done yet, so will be pushed out later in the year in time for the launch of Kinect.

I don't live in the States, but I might get one just for the fun of stripping it down to its naked hardwares, and examining it.

Microsoft engineer 1: "We need to do something about all these red rings of death."
Microsoft engineer 2: "How about we take out the red leds?"
Microsoft engineer 1: "Genius."

I just came across the interwebz for the first pics of the inside of the new 360 S 250GB.

Too bad pretty small pics, seems that the person that made them also mods 360.
Top of the drive looks different to the Lite On/BenQ shape. But then again, Lite On might have changed that top for Microsoft. OR its a total different brand/new security.

Enjoy yourself while waiting for better pics and more info...

New info, I just mailed the guys:

"As for the drive it’s a Philips however its construction is similar to the Samsung so time will tell
Thank you for contacting us
Solomods.com"

I replied asking if he knew other details or have a sharper pic of the top of the drive. Fingers crossed its 93450... But probably not.

EDIT:

Philips Lite On dg-16d4s

waiting answer on firmware...

EDIT #2

Guy says:

FW ver.: 9504

mmmhhhhhhh

this guy already case modded it and put blue leds in it lol

yet he's unable to take proper high res pics of the guts? what kind of modder is this

is he unaware loads of people are looking to have good pics of the internals?

9504? doesn't matter. probably still uses thesame chip, so is likely mra-able.

Bigger pics pulled from that site

It looks like the Wifi adaptor plugs into that mystery top left port.
