Hello everyone, First i would like to thank you all for taking time to read my question and i will be very grateful for you cooperation, I now have like 2 weeks trying to do this without result Cry Cry Cry Cry. The thing is that I'm trying to flash a hitachi 79 FL with a desktop computer(Alienware Aurora) that has 6 SATA port with the intel core i7, 9 GB RAM and windows7 64 bits and i'm using the jungle flasher 1.6/1.7 with the Ixtreme Firmewares for the Hitachi. But the problem is that there is no way I can get my Hitachi DVD drive in mode b(debug). I have tried all the version of Slax(including 21 the recommended one), I checked in my Bios config and the Hitachi appears in there, but the driver's letter never shows up in windows.  then I boot from Slax and i never get to the "spinning up disk" message. I have also tried to install the Port i/o drivers for 64 bits OS disabling the enforced windows driver signature in order to use that flashing method instead of WinApi and then the jungle flasher says that my port io drivers are installed but it never finds the hitachi drive. So what can i do to get it flashed?HuhHuh?

you should be able to work out the sata port that the drive is connected to by scrolling through them on the hitachi tab and reading the drive id on the left hand side.

even without the drive having a letter assigned, JF should still pick it up when choosing the port and refreshing it

does your drive show up in the bios settings?

JF can send all modeb commands and also you need the 79 unlock cd (JF also provides a link to that)

insert the cd, then once the drive shows up against the port hit the send modeb command, the drive will then get a letter assigned, then hit the 79 unlock button and the drive can be read/written to.

hi  Wink, thanks for answering my question. I did all that you told me. I pluged in my hitachi drive in one of my SATA ports and turned on my xbox 360 as soon as the computer started(i can see the drive in the BIOS), then i boot windows and then i opened the jungle flasher as admin and it says "no comports were found during enumeration"(JF says i have 4 Port I/O and 0 Com Ports, i don't know what that means). I went to the Hitachi tab and in port property i started testing with all of them always clicking on refresh into  port properties in the left and into drive in the right and there was a "no drive detected" message in port prperty. Any way i clicked in send mode b button in each of the ports but nothing happened. Please tell me what am i doing wrong and if it is a problem with my pc(Alienware Aurora), i'm really getting frustrated.

If is not possible to do it in 64 bit OS give me just a quick instruction to do it in a 32 bit OS

Thanks again  Grin Grin Grin

no comports is for the liteon drives (probe)...you don't need to worry about that....

as for this you wrote,
If is not possible to do it in 64 bit OS give me just a quick instruction to do it in a 32 bit OS

it's the same way to discover the drive....
.

and turn on the 360 after the pc boot and right before the windows boot screen.....
i can't see why your windows isn't seeing it ..100% if it is seen in bios it will be seen in windows...

also it might be best to unhook all drives for all sata ports and move your hd to sata port 2 and the 360's dvd drive to sata port 1
and did click find new hardware and give the drive a drive letter?

as i see the issues your going through it might be better if you just use a 32bit xp system anyway...quit making something so easy hard for you..

I have a similar problem. I am running a Windows Xp 32bit System. I have my Hitachi drive plugged into the SATA-1 Port. When I go into the bios of my PC and look under SATA-1, the Driver details show my Hitachi drive. However once booted up and I open JF and go to the Hitachi tab, there are no Drivers detected in any of the ports under Port Properties. Have been working on this for hours, any solutions?
