Xbox 360 8gb slim putting a hard drive inside. Is it possible to use the old 360 hard drive and put it into the slim?

since these as £50 cheaper i have a 250gb that i could put into the slim. Anyone attempted it on the 250gb to replace it? i know its pointless in that situation but it would be nice to know.

the new slim 360 hdds are just a normal 2.5" sata drive in a special enclosure. i havent seen one in real life yet but id say that you could replace the hard drive inside the enclosure with another 360 formatted drive (orig or HDDHACKR) and it would work

why would m$ reinvent the wheel for a new xbox?

OLD XBOX360 drives DO WORK on XBOX360s consoles. It has been tested already. Obviously requires one to dismantle the drive from the old XBOX case and place it on the XBOX36s drive bay. Something like a foam or a piece of paper need to be placed to secure the drive in place.

what you could have done was search google or youtube.

plenty of youtube video's showing you it's perfectly fine with old HDDs. You just have to dismantle it, and once in the Slim stop it from wiggling around too much.

obsolete thread is obsolete
