Hi All,  iv been searching for the answer to my HD problem for a while online but cant seem to find it anywhere, Hope someone can help me, Iv got a 20gb hd that iv been using for ages, got a new 60gb hd and then got a transfer cable from ebay. i left the 20gb on the xbox and attached the 60gb via the usb,i went into memory settings-transfer content and then did as directed on screen to move data from 20gb to 60gb all seemed to work fine but then i put the new hd onto xbox and its not finding it, i then connected it via the usb again and everythings on there and working, How do i get it to work when attached to the xbox directly??

Thanks

This is *NOT* research. This is troubleshooting and technical support.

Is the 60gb drive not showing at all when connected directly, or just not showing your content?  Is it an official drive or a WD?

It's an odd situation.

The fact that the 360 sees it when plugged up to USB proves that the hard drive is good (powers on, formatted correctly, etc.)
The fact that the other harddrive works when plugged directly into the 360 proves that the xbox's connector is fine.

Perhaps the connector on the 60gb hard drive is slightly out of place, or the case is cracked/broken somewhere preventing a good connection on the 360 but not the usb cable?  Try turning on the 360 while pressing on the hd above the connector.

try to shim the hd connector on one side or the other when plugging it in, perhaps a piece of paper folded over so its snug but not too snug.

Just out of curiosity, what dash does this xbox have and are any of these hard drives from banned consoles?
