Activate.iso help

I recently bought a second hand xbox 360 already modded, but I don't know, even if i asked the costumer, what kind of modded software I now got. But He told me that if i wanted to launch one of the new games backup I have to insert firs a dvd called activate.iso. Now searching on the internet i understood that activate iso works on firmware iXtreme 1.6. So I supposed that I currently have this firmware.
I'm not really sure so my question is if activate iso works only on iXtreme or also in other modded xbox 360 software.
The next question is (if i have iXtreme 1.6) how can I upgrade to firmware 1.61.

upgrading firmware is a piece of cake, and very well documented on internet.. no need to ask basic questions like this at all

mine is another question. I first have to verify wich mod i have (i have hitachi first model). It's possible that I have firmware iXtreme 1.51? I readed that in hitachi this firmware can launch backups with activate iso, a part from the other benq and samsung.

Your english isn't the best so I have to make a few assumptions:

You have 2 Xboxes. One of them is a hitachi drive, the other you have not specified but it requires activate.iso to work on newer games.

IF your hitachi boots any game after March 2009, it's most likely iXtreme 1.51. This is the latest firmware for Hitachi drive.

Now for this "Unknown" drive. Since it requires Activate.iso, it's either going to be a Samsung, BenQ or Liteon.
IT could be either iXtreme 1.6 or iXtreme 1.61, but it's most likely 1.6 (I don't think 1.61 has problems booting any existing "waves" out there).

To update, you'll need to read up on Jungleflasher. Go google that, it's very striaghtforward.

No. The Hitachi drives do NOT use Activate.iso for anything. Either the Drive is not hitachi or you're using the disk without needing to.

I queue in this discussion becouse I have a similar problem:
i spoofed a liteon 93450c over an hitachi 3120L v47, and this last one just boots me some games and other does not (ie. boots fifa south africa, and doesn't boot fifa 11). When it doesn't boot it doesn't show the "normal" play dvd screen, instead it forces me to open tray.

Anyone knows what could it be?
