Hi there, searched and read around the forums already. I've found "similar" problems but no-one's described the prob as I am having.
I plugged in the dvd-rom to my pc (via sata obv, with raid turned off). Booted the Slax cd, turned the drive into mode b. Booted up into windows and ran the .bat file with the correct drive letter. All went through with no errors. Powered down etc....
Now when I boot my xbox (not tried plugging it into the tv, no point at this stage) the middle green light flashes fast like it's still in mode b (if u do the crosswire method) and won't eject. I can't even get it detected by my PC any more.
Any ideas people?
Cheers

90% sure you flashed the 47 firmware into either a 59 drive or 46 drive!

I flashed it using the 47d files from c4e. So that cant be the problem.

i have the same exact problem, i flashed once to FW 1.1 and the drive wouldn't eject so i reflashed back to original and everything worked fine. Then i tried to flash to the FW 1.0 and the same problem occured so i went back to the original FW but this time it broke it and would not eject. When i powerup the xbox 360 now, the green light constantly flickers. I have a hitachi 47DJ. I just ordered a new drive and heard you can use it fine as long as you dump the original dvd rom key to the new one.

I also have the exact same problem...as far as troubleshooting it goes, my box also flashes the center green light when the drive and cables are removed, and shows on screen "opening", and when I press the eject button it says"closing".

This is getting silly .. Brick after brick after brick ..
Again, if there's still a disc in the drive, remove it and try again! If that doesn't help I suspect the crosswire method to blame. Seems very unreliable to me.

No disc in the drive and I didn't use the cross wire method (as i already said). I used the slax cd and the .bat file said everything was fine and dandy!

Did you have the A/V cable connected? If not, the xbox won't boot without it. Otherwise it's a software / hardware failure.

A few more things...If I do the HDTV soft reset trick, it doesn't say "opening..." or "closing...", it says open tray. Don't know if it matters or not. Another REALLY interesting thingis mixup mention Vista...I also "successfully" ran the .bat in vista. Also, my A/V cable was plugged in, and the error being indicated is the bottom right ring flashing red, E64 or sometimes 65 on screen.

uh.. using a beta OS for something like this just is asking for f***ups. error 65 means bad dvd firmware/dvdrom not responding.

I know it's asking for trouble. But once u've been using it a while you kinda forget and just carry on as normal. Nevermind eh
