You're missing the forest for the trees. The more that people attack the integrity of what Microsoft wants to be a secure service, the more that Microsoft will develop new ways to attack the very community which gave way to the attacks on games like Modern Warfare 2.
It's a scorched earth mentality and, guess what? Microsoft will be the ones to win.
But like I said before what more can they actually do?. None of you have given any examples. There is nothing they can do more than disable homebrew in new boxes, which they did far prior to anyone doing MW2 modding. The only thing I can think of is threatening the creators of freeboot/XBR with legal retaliation, which would be very difficult for them to do. Anyway this is moot now that the new version of freeboot is out and people without a cygnos can go back on live. What a waste of 50 bucks... |

1: And then get banned in less than five hours. If we use our basic logic skills, we can determine that at this rate, with the limited number of exploitable xbox's, keyvaults will run out... Then what will all of those people do with their 360's? I can already see the threads about unbanning without the use of a new kv. 2: Because we all know a cygnos360 is only good for modding on Xbox live. |

Bans usually come into play 4-6 hours. Nothing fewer, nothing longer. People are still sending me units to jtag, so exploitable units are in no short supply. 2)Unless I'm interested in developing homebrew for the 360 (I'm not), it's kind of useless. I'm a bio major, I have no need to learn how to code, thus I only know basics. Anyway, you're pissing in an ocean of piss, freeboot already allows MW2 modders back on xbox live. There is no point to this thread anymore. |

Honestly, I'm all for FULL block of XBOX Live on the patches set. That would keep the noobs busy learning until they were able to change the patches up. And with each version of the kernel needing different patches it's enough to keep them busy for a long time.
No live for hacked consoles. It's pointless anyway. People *will* be banned for having the console hacked.
Pointless. Blocking it also helps keeping people who don't want to connect connecting by mistake.

What I think everyone seems to forget with these "noobs can't do it" arguments is that it only takes one capable person with similar interests as the "noobs" to undo the hack and release it, and then every other "noob" out there can just ride on that person's coat-tails. Unless you can guarantee that there isn't at least one person both capable and interested in doing it, then it's really only a matter of time before everyone has it, "noob" or not. On a side-note, and yes this is a "noob" questions of my own: does the mere act of signing into live with a Jtaged box lead to the ban, or is it only if you play games? The only thing I miss that is Live related on my Jtag box is Netflix - that sure would be nice! |

They didn't figure out the patch this time anyway, it was accidentally released.
It's funny to me that the only people on here chiming in about these cheaters' skills are not actually hackers...
