It was a sad thing that we needed the Cygnos Scam in order to the rebooter to see the light of day, and it is sad that the only way now to get an up to date rebooter is to get scammed again.

Just hoping XBR team to keep supporting new dashes on a regular basis.

I agree. That pisses me off that great people did alot of work to get xell and the new exploit aka SMC hacked xboxes to go, and these a**holes makeing money that they did no work in.

On a sidenote, this topic is the first time I've seen people I trust confirm that Jester has a Live-safe JTAG setup. I was under the impression that MS can check the nand, however. Shouldn't that make any alteration in the dash impossible to hide? What am I missing here?

There's no such thing as far as I know, and yes, Microsoft bans xboxs with hacked kernels from XBL regardless.

Several months ago he was saying such thing. I understand that maybe this can be done by adding some patches to XBR, or maybe modifying something but imagine the "cheat armaggedon" on live. Microsoft would be really pissed off, so don´t ask if you are going to get them.

Jester has live streamed himself being online just the other day. He does not use XBR though, he uses cygnos. I assume he modified the ibuild.exe to rebuild it for the new update instead of 8955. That is the only thing stopping me from making my own custom freeboot image as far as I can tell.

Yeah, that is untrue. The HV he has simply bypasses some security checks microsoft does. It is NOT unbannable, but it is safe for about 3 months as far as I understand.

You cannot "Infect" MW2 mods (clientDvars are an exception). 10th Prestige and challenges for example are NOT able to infect.


This is not really a discussion for MW2 mods by any means though. I don't mean to start any kind of discussion off topic.

I am here to try to help out Phonsey in anything he needs. I can have any and all nands/CPU keys he needs. Just need to get in contact with him

So Live checks the integrity of the hypervisor once every three months or so, but not the kernel directly?

To be honest, I am not sure how all of it works. I am not technical enough to know how to reverse a hypervisor. But what I figure: Before JTAG's became popular, they would actually last for a few months because microsoft wasn't very concerned about them being online. Once people figured out they could swap the kv and just mod online and make money off it, a hell of a lot of noobs started getting JTAGs and infecting online.

So microsoft put in some security checks to ban the JTAG's quicker, over time these checks got better and better to shorten ban times. I read Jester say the 3 month live safe HV was actually a side-effect from another project of his. I am not sure how true this is or not. But I assume that if he did reverse the HV(which I kinda doubt, but I don't know everything about this) then he removed the added security checks, and he is running one of the first versions on the HV.

If he didn't reverse the HV, and it was an accident. Then something outside the HV is interfering with the checks and taking them forever to run. Those are just my theories to be honest.

Again though, if you want to figure out how Jester is unbannable for 3 months, start a thread about it. This thread is about Phonsey trying to crack the 9199 dash. Which again, I am willing to help out with any and everything he needs. Just need to contact him

Freeboot always was about Cygnos and sales. Icekiller was one of them as well that had been granted exclusive dealership in Belgium by Cygnos as long as he'd push sales, didn't take long for him to become a scene reject as he passed unreleased software to anyone that was willing to "contribute" , in other words send the FreeXex guys stuff/money

I'm in Xelove and unless i'm mistaken.. we don't push cygnos's nor do we push any point of "rebooter" software. Imho i gave support equally to XBR users and Freeboot users. And if i couldn't help an XBR user i would point them to somebody that could (tuxuser/...) and serously.. I didn't sell any software, a few people BETA tested it (5-7) 1 released a vid and hell broke loose.. so get your facts straight before you start saying $#!t thx

Just cause he uses cygnos DOESNT MEAN he is using Freeboot. Cygnos works just as well with XBR as with freeboot get your facts straight.

Very true, the norm is to use freeboot though with cygnos. And I personally heard Jester say he uses freeboot and not XBR. Sorry my post was misleading, thanks for clearing it up.
