So you really thought Microsoft was going to discontinue production/sales of overpriced HDD's, and have users the ability to use any size usb storage?

LOL

It's meant as a memcard replacement, not a HDD replacement.

In Microsoft's intentions, sure. But since "secure" devices can store full games, XBLA titles and DLC, it's only the 16GB artificial limit that prevents this from being a HDD replacement.

I have thought of one good use for it.  For those people upgrading hard drives, you can finally move your profile and copy all of your saves at once.  Without messing around with a PC.

and in the future, if we want to play at this news games, we will have to update the XBR, isn't it ? (correct me if i'm wrong)

but i wasn't speak about live, i don't understand why you say that.

ps: this update will uncripple banned xbox, it's a very good news Wink

cheers,

For $#!ts and giggle, I formatted my 20gb hard drive(made backups don't $#!t a brick on me) to try and use it as a USB drive, since the console now recognizes hard drives connected through the transfer cable(or any USB-to-SATA connector), to have 16 out the 20gb usable (versus standard 13.9gb).
Unfortunately it will not be recognized if formatted (Partitioned or not).

Has anyone tried this and got actual results?
