i have purchased a Serial SATA to IDE Ultra ATA 100/133 Converter Adapter

It won't get you into mode b, but if you plug it into an ide dvd-rom and boot into windows then swap the sata cable to your Hitachi you will be able to flash your drive just fine. Read the tutorial for a better explanation.

so i dont need a SATA DVD DRIVE then? i can just my IDE DVD DRIVE?

Yeah you can use a IDE drive with a adaptor that makes it SATA. Then just swap the SATA cable to your hitachi and windows will still think that the previous drive is pluged in and you can flash with no problems. Your motherboard still needs a SATA connection though.

Damn lol i dont have sata on my mobo dooooooooooh how would a sata pci card work with this? there about £10 lol would have been cheaper getting the X kit

PCI card and that adaptor will work just fine with this method.
