I have just successfully jtagged a xenon board bought for £56 on ebay was told after 10 mins the graphics would glitch, i have upgraded the gpu heatsink to v2 and redone the x-clamp better than it was.

i dumped the nand multiple times none of them matched, (cable length was 7 inches) so i decided to just inject the keyvault and config and flash xbr anyway. first time it went e79 so i reflashed without the config.bin and it booted to dash. now i have the cpu key. fans now running at 80%

opening my nand backup in degraded says note: bad block @ 0x2D2
note: block 0x2D2 found at 0x3FF

also nandpro wouldn't read/write to that block 2D2 i also opened the nand in infectus nand checker which reported loads of bad blocks. (should i be concerned about this).

I was expecting a whole new xbox experience but there isnt very much homebrew apps made, the nand is the dashboard right? is it possible to run a virtual nand off my hdd?

homebrew is still new, and its not something that every 360 can do.. most of them cant actually. This is most likely the reason for the not-so-mainstream homebrew market. Give it time.. As for the bad blocks, some are normal, just have to be remapped. If your dash is working though, it should be fine, doesnt make sense how its running with a bad flash though. but hey, its working right Smiley

Since the original NAND is gone, and you have no multiple identical copies, at this point the xboxs fate is in its own hands. Just make sure to keep a copy of your original dumps and the patched dump you flashed, just in case something goes wrong...

The original nand isn't necessary gone. You say you have dumped your original nand multiple times. If you have at least 3 images run them trough the nandcompare tool. It will examine the nands and build a new nand (if possible). With any luck you get your original nand which is always great to have

I just bought an xbox board on ebay for £20/£5 p+p

(Quote) xenon non-hdmi xbox 360 motherboard installed with the jtag hack and xbreboot.
the motherboard had the RROD which was repaired and for this reason i am selling as faulty. the reason i am selling is that i have bought a motherboard with the hdmi port.
dvd drive key will be supplied on a cd.

Selling as faulty and no returns

I have spare cases/fans/drives/rf pcb etc, unfortunately no more v2 gpu heatsink.
is there anything you think i should do/check? assuming it works.
