Ok so on first attempt like many others I messed up DB1F1, read about alternate points and good technique/how you should go about soldering the alternates. That all went pretty well as i'm pretty sure I got a solid connection to FT1U2, hot glued the wire to a part of the board without trace and it looks pretty stable. Now my question is, should I be soldering this to J2D2 on the top of the board or are there alternate points for J2D2 on the bottom? I think it would be neater if I were to keep all the JTAG wiring on the bottom of the motherboard, would that be correct? I'm also scared that if I thread it through one of the holes to the top of the board, that hole could be used for a screw later when putting the casing back on and I could break a connection.
I found this diagram
http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5145/db1f1ft1u2alternative.jpg and the point looks similar to J2D2, I think it is right beneath it. Would that be considered an alternate point? Could I get away with soldering everything how I was meant to on top of the board, but on that point? If I do end up having to thread it through to the top of the board, which holes would be considered safe (as in they do not get occupied by screws)?
