hello...i jtagged a machine today and did 3 nand dumps...yada,yada,yada.
anyway i can boot to xell just fine by pressing eject everytime and can see the fuse sets, but when i try to boot xbr via power button i get a green cycle short glimps of the startup animation then red light in the lower right quadrant and an e71 error.
my question is, if xell works...i should be able to recover from whatever my problem is right?
i have fuse sets written down and can see them everytime i boot to xell.
again i can boot xell every god damd time...just no xbr.
wtf am i doing wrong here?

well now i have no video at all...and i havent changed a thing.
its a good f***ing thing i wrote those fuse# down when i had the chance.
dunno what happened and i touched nothing but i have no video in xell all of the sudden (vga).
i was able to see xell no problems with the exact same setup 15 mins ago...i didnt unplug or change anything.
like some fugging voodoo machine.
anyway i have 3 good nand dumps and the fuse#
but wtf?

ya, thanks...still wonder why i had video and now i dont.
i'll reflash the original in the morning...start from there.
hope i didnt fug anything up video wise.
seems strange i had video for xell one min then not the next.
dunno.

You have bad blocks...extract the bad blocks from their location from your xbr image, and inject them to the remapped locations given to you by nandpro/degraded. i.e. if you had a bad block at 163 and it was remapped to 3FF in your nand, then "nandpro.exe xbr: -r16 163.bin 163 1" and then "nandpro.exe xbr: -w16 163.bin 3FF 1"

i flashed all 3 orig.bin back and no go.
i have all greens no red lights blinking and i can hear the startup animation but just a blank screen.
tried vga and composite cables.
i can even shuffle through and hear the blades changing.
guess this ones going in the trash.
it doesnt matter if jtag is removed or not...same deal

well couldnt throw it in the trash. i removed mobo completely, flashed orig.bin, got rid of all jtag $#!t including the 3 330's.
its now sprawled across my coffee table... mobo, fans, dvd drive, panel, just dangleing there...but it works now, video\sound and everything. my wife thinks im a fug'n nut bar.
anyway i will try this all over again and report back.

and success...after dragging my ass outta the darkest depths of hell with this machine it finally works great with xell and xbr no problems everytime without issue.
before i go away though...i would like to explain what i think were the problems so future people with my issue dont run into a dead end.
to recap...
-my problem was not related to read/write off nand as i could boot xell.
-i could not boot xbr tho and resulted to red ring lower right quadrant.
-i lost video even for xell after a few boots (tho grabbed my fuse sets).
so i used (bad block remapper) on my xbr.bin as i had 2 bad blocks (thx redline).
-now i can boot xbr and xell with out the red light and can hear every thing...just cant see anything.
-only a black screen...controller works and can hear as i shift thru blades.
-can also flash any of my 3 orig.bin and again (black screen but everything works).
-tried both vga and composite cables...same deal (black screen).
so i rip out the mobo and remove and re-apply jtags quick and nasty (i dont even care at this point).
-reflash bare balls mobo on my floor with the orig.bin
-hook everything up just kinda dangling of mobo (dvd, panel, hookups,etc..).
-bam...worked straight go.
so now im happy and take it further.
-replaced xclamps, cleaned both heatsinks, applied thermal past and bolted down (just to rule it out).
-hook jtag backup and reflash the remapped xbr.bin
-and wheeeeee back in the game.
conclusion...my board was dying. thats why i could see xell to begin with...then it started to black screen.
it works great for now...next xenon will be xclamp replacement straight away...prior to any jtagging.
anyway thanks for the remapping (bad block) info and to r/l for his remapper...def tool for xbr.
