So I took delivery of my Jasper 360 with the JTAG hack/xexmenu today. All was going well and I noticed the drive wasn't flashed. So I took out the drive (Liteon 83850c) and flashed it with iXtreme 1.61 (have done many of these before). Put it all back together again and now the console won't boot. The green power light comes on but the green 'swirl' doesn't kick in on the front and the screen stays black. No errors or red lights are shown.

Any ideas?

when removing the drive did it disconnect or break a wire off for the jtag trick?
have you checked all that over?
and what does it do without the dvd-drive hooked up?

Yeah checked all the soldering it looks fine - I was very careful when removing the drive. I haven't checked underneath but then I didn't remove the motherboard when I took out the drive so surely that should be ok?

Without the drive connected (at all) I get 3 green lights. (edit like this :`  - bottom right hand light is unlit)

With just the power connected it does the same thing as with both connected (black screen, green light on front, no screen output).

If it helps at all I've taken some pics of the soldering performed on this console. It looks fine to me (although far from the best job I've seen). Any one fancy taking a look to see if they can see something I can't?

what diodes are you using?
did you try to flash the drive back to stock and check it(worth a try).

Not sure about the diodes - I didn't buy them myself but they worked ok for a short while.

I will give flashing back to stock a try - as you say, worth a go. But the problem happens whether the drive is connected or not.
