I've noticed that on all the tutorial on jtag and installing XeLL and XBR, they all stop at flashing in the xbr and xell. I think the term that is used in nearly every tut i've read goes something like this "if you can boot up xell you're good to go". Sad to say but that's not my situation here. I boot up xell with the eject button and I get a free60 screen that begins writing out lines, at one point it tries to connect to some tftp address and fails. After 10 fails it moves on to other stuff, some error messages, one I recall is about a PVD (no idea) and the last line it gets to is XeLL network config and if I don't have the network cable in it'll have some numbers like an ip, if I don't have it plugged in it's all 0's. That's my xell experience so far, it stops there, does nothing, the green light goes out but the system stays on. If I boot up normally through the power button I get 2 green lights and 2 red light alternating positions and nothing on the screen.

So as the title says, are there any tutorials out there that can walk me through the process and or troubleshooting between succesfully flashing in xell/xbr and having it running and useable?

*update* For visual reference I found this youtube that show exactly what I get.

if no outside links are allowed my apologies, i just need help getting past this. right now i've got a useless xbox while i wait for this help.

Those "Xmas lights" usually indicate a corrupted key vault,
Did you try to change stuff like your DVD key or OSIG?

If so revert to the unaltered KV.

there is no problem with xell, thats exactly what its meant to do if you dont have an elf on a usb stick or a linux distro for the 360 in the dvdrom, as for the xmas tree lights that is an issue with the keyvault in the image, to check the keyvault boot up into xell, where it has the numbers and letters combine lines 3&5 to get your cpu key, load that into flashtool and see if it can decrypt your keyvault from your original image, if it can then you probably didnt inject your keyvault and config into the xbr image
