Hello, I am trying to do teh MRA hack on this Lit on 7 board. I am using the CK3 and Probe 2 - I know there are home-made, easy versions but I would like to avoid them if possible. Have I ruined pad 101? http://tinypic.com/r/2me7jvm/7http://tinypic.com/r/2q9gz68/7Thanks for any help!

101 is still there, but you are missing some serious traces else where.

screamo, http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=14040.msg104843#msg104843just like that. the only thing i would do different, is not use a switch. instead, just solder the resistor to a wire, ground the wire, and probe the resistor by pin 101 instead of trying to solder to it. allobywt - try to mra hack the drive, if that fails i can help you trouble shoot.

Hello people, after reading here a lot, I am still unsure, how to read out the FW / DVDKey from a liteon board. I've flashed it one year ago to iXtreme LT and lost the dummy.bin. Now I am trying the MRA-hack, but was too stupid to breake the PAD 122 - I have seen, that it is possible to read the FW using this method: I have used the JungleFlasher MRA guide and have connected the 22R and switch like following: I am hoping that my question is at the correct place, after reading the warnings about the wrong posting

if all that broke was pad 122, then dump it just like you normally would, then jump 101 trace to 122 trace to repair after you dump. btw, if you still have the same pc, then jf stored your key in the registry, just hit ctrl f12 in jf and it opens the key database.

How to tell if the MT is burned @ Game over. Fix your board like i have drawn in picture. IF the resistance is 95-110 Kohm drive is fine you can dump it. IF there is no resistance 0 ohm @ open circuit r207 is burned fix it, new zero ohm resistor or solder bridge.Burned Drives, Measure resistance 3,3V to GND if the resistance is low like 1 ohm - 20 ohm. First cut Pink line 1 and measure resistance 3,3V to GND if the resistance goes high 95-110 Kohms the drive is burned game over!! Second cut Blue line 2 and measure resistance 3,3V to GND if the resistance goes high 95-110 Kohms the drive is burned game over!! To keep it short....received an Xbox with DVD powered upside down (here we go again), pin 101 has gone charcoal, so I started reading all that was posted here and....First, done the cuts, placed the jump wire R207 to C03, got 6 Ohms, went on with the new check...cut pink, got 1,6 Kilo...is it recoverable? Cutting Blue line (step 2) gives me 100k.

set it up to mra hack, test for shorts, if none, then probe 122 to intro since 101 is fubar.

I have a liteon 7 which shows only status 0x7f. Resistance 3.3V > GND is 100k ohms. I measured voltage on 5V cap and it's only ~1V. Where's the problem? The board was messed up a bit but I think I fixed it well. Ideas?
Nevermind. Fixed that. R203 was faulty.

By that you mean to check 5V 12V and 1.8V if grounded or only the MRA setup ? Should I leave ONLY the Pink trace cutted ? Or go to step 2 and cut the blue to get 90-110 k ? As I understood, PLDS drive is possible not to show up in JF but the MT chip will respond to intro ? Even if showing status 7F ?

it is fixable, but maybe not by you. that is way to much solder and way to big of wire. also, every time you turn that drive on while shorted, you chance permanently frying the board and it not being repairable. if you don't have a multimeter to do the test a couple post above this one then you need to get professional help.

Damn, I wish this was as simple as it is.... BY THE WAY>>>PEOPLE SHOULD USE A HDD IDE CABLE FOR GETTING WIRES THIN ENOUGH TO DO THE CONNECTIONS RIGHT....and yes, I said it loud....also flux and a 8-15W iron...and some alcohol and some cotton buds...

your attempt was correct, just your execution was sloppy, take what you have and remove the excess solder and use a smaller wire and it should work. if you can find some solid strand cat5 cable, they work great.

Damn you Microsoft !!! I'm confused now....iateshaggy said it should work....if I try MRA, should I try it with the pink cut , the pink and the blue, th pink and the blue bridged again and use an alternate probe point or what ? Well....if it works, I'll name the console LAZARUS.....

Hey there, I've received a Lite-On, however it is badly damaged and I cannot find a diagram that matches with the same pads ripped, in order to dump the drive. http://i55.tinypic.com/29fw2nb.jpg < All the damaged pads, cut traces in red, also one resistor is missing near the mtk chip. http://i54.tinypic.com/1zvbq4h.jpg < 1x Resistor missing near the MTK chip. http://i55.tinypic.com/2i6p1m1.jpg < Before it was an absolute mess, cleaned up. I've tried one method (can't remember) from this thread however the drive will just show Status 0x80. My soldering work is excellent (TV's, PS2's, X360 JTAG'ing etc). Cheers!
