My friend gave me liteon 9 series that he attempted to dump. Every single pad that the Lt switch touches is torn up. Can i send it to someone to retrieve the key or just tell him to throw his brand new elite away?

I lifted pad 122

so tried to fix but took off a capacitor

can this be fixed?

What is the capacitor value?

Can it be replaced with a non surface mount one?

Thanks

I have a 93450c and did it exactly the way I've done my other one. With a ltswitch, ok so it was all lighting up red/green. Ok all looked well so plugged into ck3 and sata and nothing would work no LEDs on the switch although the ck3 was lighten leading me to believe the board is not shorted out, I have run a multimeter on several points and all looks ok cuts tracks etc, so I'm lost sat it was only moved 3 foot and it stopped working,

I'm in the uk if anyone can help?

Sorry for the first post drama

@Dream Do I need to leave the wire from R207 --- C02 so there is one wire from C02 to R207 and one from R207 to C03 or just a wire from R207 to C03?

Thanks

Hi,

I have been reading through this thread, as I stupidly thought I was capable of succesfully cutting the required traces to use the CK2 probe to dump the drive.

I was wrong Cry

While I dont think I have buggered the board up that bad, I have damaged the pad 101, and it wont recognise the drive in jungle flasher at all

I am hoping some folk here will be able to help me see if I can revive the board myself, before I see about sending it in to someone else to fix my error!

I was thinking about doing what was described in the very first post, would that be the best thing?

Also, and this is really probably a stupid question, but what reading is the multimeter supposed to give once the trace is successfully cut?

Here are some pics of my board as is stands, sorry for the quality!

your board is fine, it isn't supposed to show up in jungleflasher.  just make sure you selected the right port, hit intro, then power teh drive while pushing the button your your probe 2 then let go of the button after it finishes introing.

It doesn't work that way if you don't have the DVD key. If you do, then nvm. Post some pics of the board.

I do this for many years. Of course I have the key. The board is missing some smd parts, tracks are busted. Client tried to update it by him self. Lucky I have his backup. I wont try to rebuild the board. I just need a new one Smiley

I have been looking through various threads but cant see anything like my problem wich is -i was flashing liteon 74850c with connectivity kit and ck3 probe the newest one with 2 spears anyway as i was using probe i must have touched something because the probe led went out and drive is dead now when i have kit plugged into drive and turn power on , the led s light up briefly then go out and drive is still dead i had an old board and changed 2 large capacitors but it is the same,is there  any way to test board i have a multimeter but dont know where to start .by the way i know the connectivity kit is working cos  i plugged it into another drive and led s light up and stay on thanks in advance Alby.
