Just any wire. Measure resistance 3,3V to GND.

Dont take it off Press the wight button, on top off probe2. What it does --> 3,3V to pad 122-->101.
What is your resistance 3,3V to GND?

hey guys,
i just did mra method and dumped the keys and fw.
however i was being rushed to patch it all back up, so i may have caused a microscopic joint between top trace and ground underneath it.
i probably scraped a little bit of it.
Now it RROD's with anything soldered to the right of where i made the cut, and works if i take the wire to fix the cuts off.
How would I fix this, it's a good thing I already have the drive's key and fw.

Another school-boy mistake made here >.>

Hope you can see it, basically the damage that has been done;

- Ripped the track off the top line (the track that has 101 joining off)
- Broken 101
- CK3 does not power on when connected to the drive (a short somewhere perhaps)?

Any help would be appreciated Smiley

P.S. Sorry for crappy image Tongue

Update:
Just got it back to stock with this fix:

Just gotta know how to dump it now Smiley

Hi there - I have attempted the boxdr method of modding my liteon but have destroyed the pad 101 now i can not solder the wire from 101 to the toggle switch.
Is there an alternative part on pcb i can use to attached another wire to the switch.

Highlighted blue area shows what i have destroyed. Also how will i return the board to normal after i dump/flash the drive.

Your help will be much appreciated mate

Wow guys, is this thread really 34 pages of "how to fix your drive when you destroy pad 101"?

I'm not knocking the useful information here, it's definately a good goto for when you do mess it up, but jeez there are alot of people messing it up.  If you have to solder to a via, get a fiberglass pen and scratch around the via first.  This way solder will stick to it so much easier and you won't end up frying it by trying too long and over heating it.  A fiberglass pen is a good thing to have anyway and they can be had for only a couple/few dollars.

you can probe via 101 or 122 (122 is left of the lower cut).
once you blow that point, your only hope is under some epoxy.

make sure you have no shorts.  take a picture of your board if at all possible before you turn it on again.  powering on while shorted can do permanent damage to your drive.
