I am trying to get my 93450c modded but it is proving to be a pain. I am using the boxxdr method. I have re-soldered many times and every time JF is telling me Status 0x7F when I hit intro and turn it on. I have also tried turning the drive on first then trying JF but the same result occurs. I have tried this with Windows XP then I formatted to Windows 7 and they both showed 7F; I have always used this computer for doing drives and it hasn't failed me yet so the chipset can't be it. I've tried two sata cables and still nothing. I have tried searching the boards for 7F but not much comes up that is a situation like mine. I have been trying to get a clear picture of my soldering work but my camera keeps getting a bad reflection of light off the board. I uploaded a picture for you to see. I have no idea how people get such clear images. My camera isn't horrendous, it's a Sony Cybershot that was purchased 2-3 years ago with 7.2 MP. http://img337.imageshack.us/g/dsc00580l.jpg/

brace against something and if you have a magnifying lenses, put the board under it. also, put it at a different angle to the light to eliminate glare. on topic, u need professional help. either your soldering skills or equipment or both are not up to par enough and you are only damaging your board more trying. if you can't find anyone local, depending on where you are, there are a few of us that can help.

Metal.acid,
Use more light and macro mode and take new picture. Measure resistance 3,3V to GND...
capris_ss,
You canīt dump it if pin/pad 101/122 is powered from 3,3V line. Pictures pleace.

That is a mess. You are using way too much solder and because of that, it is in short circuit. Take all the cables off and then remove the solder. I recommend to get right tools for it, example a solder wick. Also, make sure that you don't heat the board too much while removing the solder. If you don't have the right tools and skills, I think you should send the board for someone who can still fix it. But what I can see from that picture, it seems that there isn't much damage on the traces. Only one trace seems to be cut and you can fix it with a jump-wire.

Hi All,
I was trying to flash my liteOn drive 93450 using ck3 and prob2 some how I have broken my drive while trying to cut the trace and it is not recognized by the jungle flasher any more, I have tried to fix it using Dream's method shown above but after soldering the jumper from R207 TO C03 the ck3 dosn't power up until I cut the wire. can some body describe to me how can I solve this problem and give brife steps how the key can be dumped after repairing the drive using prob2
thanks

you have a short, firing up the drive will only do more damage. you need to find your short and remove the excess solder that is causing it. take a picture of all your soldering work and maybe we can point it out for you.

jf usually won't recognize the drive. you just select the port the drive is on and hit intro regardless of if the drive is there or not. what are u using for sata connection?
