CatchThaBeat,

If you are only going for the dump, there is no need to fix the two little broken pads. (little pads are open tray stuff)
But i have drawn the fix for you.

Newer seen lo like that nice work...

Yeah. That's my friends. Connected the wrong way. He gave it away. So it would be cool to fix it Smiley

Make Easy Probe reply66 page4...

Your Dump pic, Measure resistance 3,3V to GND 95Kohm - 110Kohm is good and 5V to GND @3kohm is good.
Then Dump it...

Thanks man. I've got the dump. Now have a spare brand new elite. I owe you.

Thanks for the info.  I have a probe 2, can I just use that rather than a home made version.

Hmmm technically yes... map pin is better now when the pads are lifted.
I can you show how to mod the Probe2 that it has also easy probe.
If you won’t that.

Jeah.

I am not an ass liker so sometimes truth is negative.
But CK3 Pro rev D is great fuses and lot of new better components, new design.
Probe2 works great nothing there I recommend it.

LT Switch Bad bad bad for beginners, don’t use it. (if you use it, then Fakir it)
New Clip is more better I think it may work.
Still the 3,3V fix worries me. laser will blow if the “3,3v MRA fix” fails.

I like to see resistors 20-18-15 ohms, some drives need 15 ohm.

Laser Cable off when you mod the L-O drive. Always measure resistance 3,3V to GND 95 Kohm - 110 Kohm is good.
Only then when you hit the area install laser cable.

Best way to mod the drive is: any kind of CK/extractor with power switch and easy probe.

I will continue help you guys with busted boards.

peterg60,

You need to clean extra solder off.
If you cant do that you cant repair the drive trust me.

fwibble,

The last pic is where you measure that everything is ok so don’t worry.
You dont need the cap solder the wire to the chip side connection point.

Hi Dream,

I have a 9xxx board with 101 destroyed. I currently have the board fitted with the boxxdr version of the MRA hack. I'm not sure what to do in my situation. Basically I'm just wanting to know where to put the side of the switch that was on the 101 pad so that I can dump the firmware. After that I should just be able to take that same point and add it into the long trace fix across the top with a wire, no?

Thanks for your help

OK, I did the boxdr pad 122, but I still get No Identify Possible in DosFlash. Here's a pic (click for high res)

those two wire patches in the middle are a fix done previously on two traces that got accidentally cut, they are not the issue, because I had the drive patched back together and playing legit games.

I'm getting 104 ohms from 3,3 to gnd, and nothing is grounding out that isn't supposed to be afaik, so idk Sad

Update: I just tried the BoxxDr Pad 122 FW dump from Reply #97. Now I get "No ATAPI device present" with the switch closed, and it shows the proper device properties from DosFlash with the switch open (pos 2, not using resistor). I really would like to dump and flash this drive! I appreciate the help for sure.
