You mean just those pins are broken? If mobo is ok, get your dremel and sand that MT chip case little bit, so you can see those cutted pins. (Same way like some Wii´s had to mod earlier). Then just use thin wire to solder those pins pack to mobo.

Edit: Like this: http://www.mod-chip.bz/wii/d2bcutpine.html

If you just want to dump it, first fix pin 101. I think that we don’t need all legs to get it into x72 for fw dump.
Hitec method is the only way...

Ps. Hitec is my country men... greasy skills...

Hi Guys,

Newbie here who has found this thread excellent but feel I'm a little out my league as I bought a Executer Lt Switch for my lite on 83850v2 so I didn't need to mess around with detailed soldering etc.

However I've fecked it up and lifted pin 122 (based on reading the info here) and possibly the other bottom left pin as well that is used for Executer Lt switch installs.

Can someone give me a quick reply of what I need to do so that I can dump the firmware? Can I still use the Executer Lt switch?

Thanks in advance.

hotbaws11,

Video: http://dream.pic.fi/kuvat/Xbox+360/Dream++mKo+Probe2/Dream+Dump.avi

JF

hit device --> Power off the drive and Probe it (Pin 101 or pin 122)--> Power on the drive --> Probe off --> hit device again --> read.

Excellent, cheers for that. Strangely for me that looks pretty straight forward Cheesy

Before I start on it, could you clarify a couple of questions...

1) I was going to use the xbox to power the drive when doing the Xecuter LT Switch install. I assume I can still do this or do you recommend I get one of those connectivity kits?

2) Using this method to connect the jump wire at the other side so that its only pin 122 that's broken (i.e. other pins still connected or fixed), does that mean that the drive is back to normal in the sense that if I didn't probe it, it would work as normal? If so then I assume I would be able to flash new firmware onto the drive and get where I want to be (i.e. play backups).

1. i always recommend that you use connectivity kit of some kind. (if you power your drive with xbox360 the secdata will be marked, M$ security)
But if you don´t play in live you can do it with xbox 360. (but if you make short circuit you may blow up x360 console)

2. Last FIX picture will repair your drive to stock. Then flash it. (top mb jump wire and Pin/pad 101 fix)

If yuo have multimeter measure like this. ( 100k ohm - 105k ohm is good, 0 ohm is short circuit and megaohms is 3,3V line is broken else were)

ha ha very good... I had to read that post a few times there!

on another note, I've watched the video a few times and writing my own notes how to dump the firmware and I'm a little confused by what you say below

Quote
hit device --> Power off the drive and Probe it (Pin 101 or pin 122)--> Power on the drive --> Probe off --> hit device again --> read.

From watching the video, after the drive has been powered off, the controller is probed and device is clicked, then read is clicked. So just to check are you saying to follow your instructions above (i.e. probe, power on drive, probe off then device and read).

Video is bad i know, you can’t see what is going on. (it was just proof that the easy probe works)
There are 3 methods to dump the drive, so i can’t tell you what it is. (JF)
JF Guides & Tutorials http://jungleflasher.net/downloads.html jftut1.3.3b.pdf Page 103 -->
"The probe in pin 101 hole is switching to resistor and probe off is switching to 3,3V" (there is no 3,3V but it is doing almost same thing)

In JungleFlasher (71) First get your drive detected find your sata address.

Power on the drive (CK/x360) and start JF--> hit device button --> Power off the drive (CK/x360) --> Probe it (Pin 101 or pin 122)--> Power on the drive (CK/x360) --> Probe off --> read.

Or

Power on the drive (CK/x360) and start JF--> hit device button --> Power off the drive (CK/x360) --> Probe it (Pin 101 or pin 122)-->  Power on the drive (CK/x360) --> hit device button again --> Probe off --> read.

Or

Power on the drive (CK/x360) and start JF--> hit device button --> Power off the drive (CK/x360) --> Probe it (Pin 101 or pin 122)--> Power on the drive (CK/x360) --> Probe off --> hit device button again --> read.

Question for you Dream, since you seem to be an expert with this process! Smiley

I have a 9 series Lite-On. Just bought a new elite a few days ago. I am selling my release xbox to my brother (m25 was so easy to flash). I have everything apart and have everything soldered on. My problem is the 101 pad came off after I soldered on the wire to the switch. Can I move that wire to the spot where you would fix the 101 pad after your done flashing, so I can flash it. If that makes sense.

I found a pic and edited it. Would I do set it up how I have it below with the switch wire connect to the pad at label L? then dump/flash, then set up with the 101 jumper like at the beginning of the thread. Or would I solder the switch wire to the other side of the cut at label R?

EDIT: Nevermind! I looked over the chip schematic to see where I needed to hook up to. Figured it out. Was able to flash the drive easily. And its working perfectly also too. Note to others, if you put your xbox back together and start it up and are unable to open the drive you probably have a short in your soldering. I had this problem, opened it back up and cleaned it up a bit. I noticed a short to the ground. Works how it should now.

Pardon the threadjack but my nostrils are full of soder fumes so my thinking isnt too clear.
anywho i did the boxxdr meathod... everything went fine until i jacked up pin 101

i did the double cut and every trace to the left and right are fine... the bottom cut is clean as well, its just everything inbetween the two top black lines is fubar... including pin101 cant get any soder in there, its deader than dead.

*snip*
If you have broken Pin 101 and You want to dump L-O FW.

so according to this i should bridge the trace above 101 like the boxxdr (since this will isolate 101 the same way as dream says to cut?)... bridge up the lower cut that boxxdr asked me to make, make my 122 cut, and wire up?

i also scrape and solder above pin101.
then i can test with the multimeter if the 2 cuts are deep enough.

same story for the bottom cut, i also scrape and solder right to the cut for testing with multimeter.

Thx for the reply!
I did exactly this... tested with a multimeter and i have no shorts around surrounding pads, nor to ground.
Cata1yst,

When i try to flash im getting a 0x80 error, and then the MTK intro error, my drive isnt recognized by my BIOS on boot, and if i try to start the drive with the switch in the "off" position (no resistor), my 360's power led flashes, if i start it with the resistor its fine, and when the drive gets power i can see the laser start and the motor move.

$#!t. I worded that wrong... when i try to DUMP the keys off I get the 0x80 error.... i have a feeling its my chipset and BIOS settings but ill tweak those and report back.
When i boot the drive with the switch in the off position my 360's green front led blinks, when i flash it with the resistor on, the laser fires up and the motor turns a bit. is this normal?

You don´t flash it, if you don´t have Firmware!!!!! If you flash it/erase it, before Firmware dump it is game over

OK you don´t have Firmware/key. This helps the drive detection. (it is same as Stock Fix)

If the status change only x52 to x80 use 15 ohm resistor.

Nope still 0x80 even when i wired it like you mentioned to....
Should i perform any tests with my multimeter to see if i burned anything out?

And the proper order to pull the key off is to
start jungle flasher
turn on drive switched to resistor
hit intro
get 0x72
switch off of resistor
hit intro again
Ill try a different chipset tomorrow...

Edit: And i tried using the multimeter.... im getting infinite ohms while pad 122 is disconnected so that i can pull the keys off.... im assuming thats normal?
Getting  1.78v in between pad 122 and ground with the 22ohm resistor in
