Thanks

If you break these pads the fix is always under the epoxy. (Sorry)
Pin 101 and pin 122 fix is under the epoxy, if  you break both pads.

If the MT1309E or MT1319L Chip is ok, there is still little hope.  Wink

Troubleshooting

If you have multimeter, measure 3,3V line and GND it sould give you resistance 100K ohm - 105K ohm. (working drive)
If the resistence is 0 ohm there is short-circuit some were.
nts.

Thanks for your posts Dream. They have been very helpful.

When i measure the resistance on my fixed liteon, i get 45K ohm. I get 55K ohm on a spare liteon i have laying around. I used two multimeters, and checked their accuracy against resistors.

I used 30-AWG kynar wire (AKA modchip wire), as it was the only wire i had small enough that i could easily attach. Is wire is thick enough? I felt the wires, and they didn't feel noticeably hot.

Thanks.

Hey Dream, I'm a little confused.. I'm pretty sure i've only messed up 2 pads that are connected together towards the bottom of the board,  but Im not sure which repair wire you are doing for these two.   In your total Pad Info picture,  it's the 2 pads circled in light blue color.

It's a board 7...  Can you help me out?

Thanks for the reply. The drive has been working a charm for the last 2 hours in my xbox.

Both boards were 74850s.  I used the fix from reply #28 http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=14040.msg102185#msg102185.

Cheers.

@RHCP

Reply #28 is not a fix... just showing what these wires do.
Resistance is 100K ohm - 105K ohm just measured L-O 7 and 9.

@ Diiblo

Do you have original FW?

Dream,

No not yet.  I am trying to get the stock FW and key from the liteon...   Havent had any luck yet.. Stuck at Status x7F and after a few times trying, those two pads i mentioned earlier were rubbed away or pulled off with access solder. The other pads are still fine though.

Yes, you are correct 100K ohm is the correct reading. My multimeter seems to malfunction when placed on the 200K ohm setting and i think the batteries are low or something in my other meter......

Although only one of my pads was destroyed, i chose to repair it like this.

This is what i did. I was afraid the wire was too small, so i added the wire on the right. They all do the same thing don't they? i.e. they're all 3.3v.

Thanks.

New FW Dump method is coming... no epoxy removal!! Give me one day...

MRA FW dump & 2x 3,3V Probes for troubleshooting.
It takes two moders to use this, one on computer and one probing the drive.

epoxy removal?  i make 2 cuts and 3 solders to dump drive.  1 resistor and 2 scrap wires.  will prep a board and show ya.  also, i sharpened the end of my resistor so it actually spears 101.
