This is what it should look when you are using my easy probe method. ("MRA method")

Tools are scalpel and Weller.

Stop that what you are doing. You donīt have the skill to fix that.
Pin 59/61 is 1,8V it is dangerous to short them to 3,3V line, you can kill your xbox or the drive whit short-circuit these pins.

Epoxy removal is hard and it is not for everybody.

Buy new drive, save your x360 console.

Hey I can only give you the info how to fix these PCBīs.
I canīt give you the soldering skill.
If you make short-circuit you can kill you X360 console.

My only advice, Noobīs buy modding service from someone!

Take the wire off clean it and take new pic.
Do you have the fw?

Best cleaning liquid is Isopropyl alcohol @ it is used in car fuel lines Antifreez "gas dryer". (100% Alcohol you canīt drink this!!)
If you canīt find any use asetone @ Nail polish remover.

Bubblegum fix

How to save FW without removing epoxy. (This is not permanent fix)

1. Use map pin to find the hole.
2. Use awg30 wire to fix the broken pad. (hole)
3. Tape it. (donīt solder it)
4. Solder the other end to 3,3V line and dump it.

Hi Dream.  I am sure you can help me.  I have read through all 15 pages of posts and find I am a bit more confused now than before.  Basically I did XboxxDR method and seemed to have damaged the trace that above the 101 pad.  I am at work an un-able to send pics now but if I do can you give me some help on what I need to do to dump and fix.

I am not sure what method to go with now after reading all the posts.  I will send pics when I get home.

Thanks in Advance.

I have contunity before the first cut and nothing after.  I have a piece of OHM strand that I was going to use as a jumper to the other pad to bridge and bring it back to stock but I will wait now that I found you......

Ok, I will pickup some desoldering braid tonight when I wake up and clean up the excess solder.  Right now it is a pretty clean board with just 3 cuts and 1 wire connected to a pad.

Okay so spent all damn day cleaning the board and re-soldering the board.  No trace pads were damaged and only the one trace that was above P101.  Hook it all up and damn it, 3 red rings and no eject!  Multimetered it according to the diagrams here and 12v is fine, 5V is fine but 3.3v reads 2.  Any suggestions?

Is the wire that runs from the switch that connects to p101 suppose to connect to the trace and pad 101?

I get contunity on all points accept the one that has a cut with no jumper.  If I probe before the cut it is fine but after the cut it reads 5.something.  Any suggestions?

Also, I can't seem to get all the solder (silver off the board with the braid)  Should I sand it off since it is flat and clean or is there another solution?

Okay think I might have it figured out.  If I remove the red wire (probe) and attach it to the 22 instead of the 101 might this fix my problem?  I think that trace is too shot.....?
