i was looking for a way to fix a pcb i ruined when the 101 pad broke off.  at first i attempted to poke a wire through, but got no where fast so i decided to change tactics.  i broke out the old muti meter and started probing a virgin board till i found a connection to pad 101 elsewhere on the board.  sure enough the trace u cut for the mra dumping method was a dead hit.  i jumped that trace to the trace 101 touches and the board started working like nothing ever happened. next i flashed the board, dropped it in a drive and was playing games like there was nothing wrong w/ it.  on a side note, the trace you jump to do an mra dump also has a connection, but i'm not sure if it will work w/o 101 like the one in my picture does, maybe one of yall can try it next time yall fool w/ one.

Just run a wire from the top point of the board and solder it to the line which this via point attaches to. You'll need to remove a little of the epoxy-like stuff but you can solder to the pin side of the capacitor which is there. I've done this a couple of times myself already with complete success.

ah, yes.  removing epoxy and running wire to the opposite side of the board to a tiny pin.  that's way easier than jumping 2 huge traces on the same side the board that are already prepared for a wire jump.  and drive replacement, another great idea.  i'd much rather spend $30 on a fleabay drive then use a tiny piece of scrap wire.

Nice way to start you posting on XBH, Mr Troll.

What tiny pin are you referring to? The via for pin 101 on the underside of the PCB is attached to a 2-inch strip of copper. How much room do you need? FYI, this is what I did to fix a couple because I didn't have time to go scouring pages of info to find a suitable point on the same side. More importantly, it works. That said, you've neither supplied a link or pic to the two huge traces which can be bridged. Are you going to, or are you just here to troll?

thanks dream, now all that is left is for one of us to try just repairing the lower mra cut and leaving the mra wire in place and seeing if that works as well.  i honestly see no reason why not, i just don't feel like testing it till i have to unless i get really bored.

Red X is destroyed, desapierd, vanished....
I haven´t  measured what pins 3,3V line goes to in that area... pin 101 is one, there may be more than One pin...

pin layout

confirmed.  lesson learned, leave the mra wire on until after 101 is fixed, then remove it or leave it.

p.s. thanks for the clear pics dreams, i borrowed them for post whoring on the other board.

Info under the L-O 7,8,9 Chip.

Red 3,3V Line is what happens when you cut the line’s. (red line is off and green line is off)
Green line is what happens when you do the MRA 3,3V fix. (Jump wire, the green line is on 3,3V)
Blue 3,3V line is always on.

You can do all the Pin 101 Fixes what is shown hare in one drive. Drive will work.
You can do only one or do them all choice is yours.  Cheesy

Edit1: Theas fixes shown here connects red line and green line together

judging by the damage and the repair, i take it you just fixed it after someone else broke it.

Pin 101, Alt MRA 3,3V repair PIC is correct.

I was looking info how to repair this drive, then i saw your post i decided to write some extra info here.
Because I could not find it anywhere. What i did was, I removed the lo chip and looked under it.
I don´t like gaming at all. Just like to fix things.  Grin
