Hi guys

I have an Elite RE5 Xbox and is banned from live with the august update. I found a black elite exbox manufactured on 2009/08/09. If it hasn't been updated with the august update I'm thinking of taking it's mobo and put it in my old banned elite so I can do the JTAG hack.
My question is ... will the black elite xbox work with the mobo from my banned xbox (only play games not go live)?
I have to replace the dvd drive also cause the key is bound with the cpu key right?
will my old hard drive work with out a problem with the new mobo? and will the black's xbox hard drive work with my old mobo?

The HDD will work fine. Just swap the innards of both systems and you're good.

Your RE5 Elite is not JTAG hackable since it's banned in august.

The 2009/08/09 is not JTAG hackable either since it's too new.

Actually the dash of the black elite is 7371 which is JTAGable. But I've read that some 7371 consoles have CB patched and they are not hackable. Is there a way to determine that before I do all the soldering and nand damping?

Also 1 more question. Since I will be using my old hard drive (from my banned console) is there any danger that I will ban my new motherboard because of that? Should I format it first or something assuming I won't go through with the JTAG hack ?
Will my profile get uncorrupted and be able to install games on the hard drive again?

The CB patch didn't get implemented until last year, so it should still be safe.
To be absolutely sure, you'll have to read at least a bit of the NAND first.

And no, they don't ban for the HDD itself. The profile and corrupted data remains corrupted until you uncorrupt them manually.

If your RE5 box got banned in august 09 it should have kernel 8498 or newer which means it has new CB. If the elite box is manufactured in august 09 it most certainly have a new patched CB since MS started using those in manufacturing mid june. The conclusion is no JTAG hack for you.

Damn.. thanks for the tips.
Now as far as the corrupt profile is concerned... to correct it and get access I suppose I need a JTAG hack right? or I can do it right now ?
