having an issue with reading nand jasper 256mb

So I have jasper 256mb cd6712 (manufacturing date 11-2008)

I gave it to my friend to install xreboot.

When he tries to read nand he gets stuck in the very beginning - bad blocks

(he tried with USB and with programmator - the same problem)

What's the matter, why bad blocks in the beginning? he says if he will continue and there is some important data in these blocks - xbox will be broken.

Did anybody face such a problem? Should we continue? is it a great risk to break a console?

p.s. really dont understand is it possible to instal xbreboot on cd6712? or only 6723? whats the difference?

How often does this have to be said? Bad blocks are NORMAL. He just needs to remap them if they're in critical areas (first 1000 blocks).

there are no degradders and remap tools for 256-512, right?

Manually remap:

nandpro xbr.bin: -r256 block.bin 3de 2
nandpro xbr.bin: -w256 block.bin XXX XXX (x's whereever it is referenced to)

Or I think badblockremapper is good on 256/512?
