what causes christmas tree lights on a console?

this is what happen:

dumped nand
flashed xbrebooter
soldered jtag
boot console and get christmas tree lights

reflash orig.bin dump and get 0022.

the orig.bin is 2858 i think it is. i didnt realize it was such an old dashboard before flashing with xbrebooter.

i have reflashed orig.bin and xbr_3.bin several times with the same result.

Christmas lights are usually caused by a bad key vault. Did you inject your xbr image with the your keyvault from orig.bin?
Also when you reflashed orig.bin to your console, did you remember to take off the jtag wires (non modded nand can't boot with jtag wires in place)?

yes for both. ive done a lot of these jtag mods but this one is the first one ive had issues with.

problem was bad keyvault from apparent bad nand dump. flashed console with another xenon dump, flashed xell, scored cpukey from xell and patched bad dump with another kv, extracted patched kv using nandpro, wrote rawkv.bin to xbr_3, flashed, and console boots ok !

Did you happen to reflash the old kv more than once...?

I've had it flash bad the first time around.

If you've got your CPU Key and the DVDKey you want... I've got donor falcon NANDs and I can program one up for you.

where do people come up with stuff like that? not the first time i read it, but it boots fine with JTAG wiring in place..
