Today, i've found a bug into jf 0.1.70.
Trying to spoof a liteon drive to hitachi, i've found that jf show you the inquiry and the identify spoofed, but when save or flash it use the inquiry and the identify of default (not spoofed).

I've solved the problem doing the same procedure with the jf 0.1.69 and it worked at first attemp.

So i think is a bug only of this last release.

edit:
I've tryied to spoof the liteon to hitachi in jf 1.70 build 85 and 86, and I had the same problem using different firmware (ixtreme 1.6, 1.61, LT)
When swithing to jf 1.69, it worked at first attempt, either with LT (i know... no calibration data... and probably sicure ban)

edit2:
Using it on win7 64bit

SO - you have tried to spoof LT - DID YOU NOT SEE THE WARNINGS!
it doesnt work!
YES - if you try it in 1.69 it LOOKS like it works
as 1.69 is not configured to recognise LT!
if you have flashed this to your drive! - i ask you to plug your drive into pc open JF and post what it says under drive properties!

I can assure you it will be reported as the LiteOn Drive that it is!

I have spoken to [Oggy] about this and he asked me to test it in win7 x64, which I am currently running.
He showed me the 2 pastebins you linked to:
http://pastebin.org/81142
http://pastebin.org/81144

Load ix161 (or LT, i tried ix161 too as you said you had and it failed also, apparently) as target in firmtool32 tab, choose manual spoof (or spoof from dummy) and select hitachi (any one was fine) then save the file, re-open saved file as target and the spoof carries, so, in effect, no bug is apparent.
The logs you provided show you were using LT as target firmware as BH pointed out, which does NOT support spoofing.
169 will appear to work as it was coded before the release of LT, if you open LT firmware "successfully" spoofed in 169 with 170, you will see it does not carry, end of story, no bug!

I've tryied more and more, and now is working excluding the lt spoofing from jf 1.70 (as expected).
I don't know why before wasn't possible to spoof ixtreme 1.61 to hitachi with jf 1.70 (an i've tryied a lot of time before posting!!)
With jf 1.69 i've spoofed and flashed LT to hitachi and worked...

By the way, as you told, end of the story, no bug Smiley
Thank you for your time, and excuse me for incovenience.

Sorry to tell you - BUT (please check it yourself) - IF you used JF 1.69 to spoof LiteOn with LT as hitachi! You HAVE NOT SPOOFED IT!
1.69 LOOKS like it spoofed it BUT HAS NOT!

please connect your drive to PC and check how it reports in JF (not dumping it - just see how it shows up in drive properties!)

It will NOT show as a Hitachi, Will show as a Liteon.!

The ONLY reason it works in the xbox is because M$ have removed the E66 error (wrong drive info) but I am led to believe that it is still LOGGED!

By using a different drive in your xbox - you are waving a big flag for M$ to see!

PLEASE dont take my word for it, connect your drive to your PC and check for yourself!

Bottom Line is - You cannot spoof LT as a different drive!

i wonderd why when i spoofed a liteon as benq with LT in 1.70 the OSIG source said Benq but the target OSIG said Liteon i manually spoofed and it said it was already Benq strings etc so guessed it was spoofed seeing it worked in my console, ive been on live ever since

funny i have a liteon with LT spoofed into a XENON originally samsung console running perfectly on live right this minute!!

never dumped NAND to see if it is one of the oldest consoles that has no OSIG, possibly why it is working.

i opened an orig liteon fw and spoofed the key etc into it, then used it as the source to build the LT firmware.

I had the exact same problem with JF 1.69 and Liteon spoofed as Benq. Both 1.61 and 1.6 were shown spoofed in JF but when flashed, the drive was flashed it was shown ( in dosflash 1.8 ) as Lite On... Tried several times. After many effords, I've tried it with JF 1.67 and it worked right away. ( spoofing into both benq versions didn't work... btw ) Posted it on JF irc, but no response there...
