|4011 | 0x01 | CPU FAN SPEED OVERIDE - 0x7F = auto fan speed, change to 80-E4 for 0-100% | |4012 | 0x01 | GPU FAN SPEED OVERIDE - 0x7F = auto fan speed, change to 80-E4 for 0-100% |
Is everything between 80-E4 possible or are only some set speeds possible like in the fanspeedtool ? Is it possible to go under the speed which the stock fans have at startup (Jasper), because i cant get the fans to run at 3.3v.

most fans won't start spinning at 3.3V either way, they usually have a minimum startup voltage of 5-6V.

surely setting the fans to such a low speed would result in overheating of the console and the onset of RROD

@Arakon: Yes and the xbox 360 is no exception there. If i push it it will start. So could i go under that speed by editing the config to e.g. A1 (should be 33%)? Ill just get 2 quiet 80mm fans on my way back from work if it doesnt work and replace the stock, just wanted to know before i drive home.
@Gazcoigne: 120mm fan installed over CPU/GPU-pipe, blowing inside, 80mm fan blowing outside at the dvd-side, near end. And im unsure if the airflow will be good if i completly dismount the stock, those 2 fans are good ones and they are almost quiet. (I thought the only thing to prevent a RROD is to keep the whole system cooled not only CPU/GPU, so it wont bend the board.)

@ dak. does Fanspeedflasher even work for your Jasper? it does absolutely nothing on mine.
which offset in rawconfig.bin (or nand.bin) would I change this? I'm looking to do some cooling mods on my Jasper to en-lengthen life.. Way to scared of it breaking down so i play 30 minutes max on it.

http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=12250.msg82000#msg82000In my config from block ef7 i have : Offset Hex 4011 7F 4012 7F (which would mean auto-speed) So i guess its the same offset in the jasper config. Edit: that fanspeedtool-thing wont make the way on my console ;-) Edit2: ill just give it a try when i come home and ill report back

fanspeedtool makes changes to the nand I know. Guess my configblock is ruined now even tho it still works after I have ran Fanspeedflasher (haven't read so much pretty things about it afterwards on other forums as well, fans completely dying, fans running 100% etc)
my rawconfig.bin (Jasper new SB), has 4011 and 4012 both FF.. but i see 4211 and 4212 have both 7F . I'll have a try with this thanks
edit: when i change both to A1 fans do spin faster on booting up (sounds like 100% to me), but errors out with an E code. I redid the ECC bytes coz Cygnos Toolbox requires it:
nandpro xbr.bin: -R16 config.bin 3DE 2
nandpro xbr.bin: +W16 config.bin 3DE 2

I bet the tool changes at block 3de at this offset, which is the config block for the other mobos. You should change that back to what it was. unsure if it changes block-wise things Anyway i prepared a few configs already and will report back, at way to home now.

just flashed back the stock image of XBR I made in the beginning.. I'll do some more tampering with later. Want to get the fans going a little faster on default to help with cooling. Also it seems fanspeedflasher did edit the values at 4211 and 4212, (both were set to 46), but it seems that isn't the only thing it is changing

I tried a couple of values now, e4 for full speed. 46 as the fanflashertool does and some other. I always get E72. I should have read the whole tread i linked to above. I always get E72 when tempering with the Fan speed. The image I've built myself is identical to the one you send me.
If i knew it didnt work id have just posted in the other tread, sorry for crosslinking to it now. @B1N4RY, if you read this, did you get it to work somehow ? @jelle2503 which other offsets does the tool change and to what ?

Tried fanspeedflasher. Doesnt work, but i dont get E72 with 40/70/auto. Just stays at stock speed it seems. I did a read before and after and it really alters too much. Edit: http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=13841.0
