Does anyone know what the 360 looks for once you select to play a game from HDD? I know if the correct game is in the drive it starts automatically but if its a different game or none at all it says please put game in after a short pause. I wanna help try an figure out what it looks for but I dont have any programming skills at all. I have been modding and in computers for years and am very savvy but cant figure out what the 360 looks for? A file, .iso or maybe it loads some sort of signature of the game to eeprom to let itself know what game is in the drive? Just thought I would throw this out there to offer assistance in trying to figure it out.

Modders if this is in the wrong place, please move for me and I apologize.

You can already do this with a JTAG'ed console.  Install with NXE, then run NXE2GOD.

If you're playing on Live everyday, you have the latest update installed (I assume not a rebooter), which means you can't use the JTAG hack.  As far as I know, a JTAG'ed console is the only way to do what you want.

Even if you could, it'd be impossible to do anything with it without the jtag hack or similar. It looks for the same data as it does to run a game from DVD.. security sector, DMI, PFI, etc.
