Hey all, I recently did the JTAG hack on a falcon system which had the old blade (don't remember which numerical dash, something like 6xxx) dashboard. I realize xbr reboots into the latest dash, but I'm concerned about the stored NXE update on my HDD. My HDD is from another system and contains a dash higher than 894x. If I try to connect that to my JTAG system, won't it want to update? If it does want to update, said update will ruin my JTAG. Is there a way to remove that dash update from the HDD, or is this not something I need to worry about?

You should be fine if you flash it with xbr already it shouldnt ask you to update when you plug in the hard drive from any system as far as i know xbr already has the latest dash i believe
and if it does its only for the avatar part does it which i already did and system is fine

should i go ahead and remove R6T3 then, or should I reflash my original nand dump, update to NXE 7371, flash xbr back, and then remove R6T3?

if your using the XBR_Falcon_8955_3a you do nothing(it's up to date) and have the choice of removing R6T3.
just read the nand..inject KV and config into XBR_Falcon_8955_3a and flash it back...unplug the unit from the 360's back end for 30 secs..then plug it back in press eject and let xell do it's job.....
seeing how there are no newer dashes you should be fine either way....(most R6T3 just unsolder it as a safety)

Thanks a lot guys! I already have XBR_Falcon_8955_3a running, but I was just nervous about hooking up my HDD and having it update me to an unexploitable system. I'm going to go ahead and remove R6T3 to be safe. I've heard if I ever need it back, I can use a 10k resistor and remove it again after use, right?

the dash you are afraid of loading was found on your NAND chip before you flashed XBR, not on your hard drive.

removing r6t3 is optional, ive done several systems now without removing it with no problems (wont know until next dash update for sure)

any updates taken in the XBR environment will blow virtual fuses, not the real ones so you should be ok, but in long term may be bestto do so.

if you need it back you can solder in a resistor or a switch, then remove when done yes.
