Hi!

I tried a few isos, but there was no problem with it. I use a pureftp server in my tests, not the XeXMenu's server.

  Which iso was problem?

Aiyyo

Thank you for the new version but the "infinite loop" is still there while transfering via ftp...  Undecided

Update: I've uploaded another game and this time finished without problems  Huh

Good evening, aiyyo it works fine under windows xp at least, it doesn't work on windows7, it still hangs when transferring first file, it logs in to ftp, creates the first folder, usually $SystemUpdate, but then it hangs when transfering the first file..

Anyway this util deserves a simple gui with batch process for xfering isos, since that's lacking on the existing isos from xbox1 days.

Hi!

I tested under Windows 7 Professional (32bit) and it was fine for me. I don't test with win 7 x64.

don't know, can't get it to work on windows7 32bit Ultimate..

Anyway some spanish guy (Froggy__007) made a win32 gui for extract-iso, it's nice, too bad it's in spanish hehe

Anyone interested check this: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L163RLY0

it would be cool if it supported batch transfers too :]

Unzip the iso in the xbox or computer batch mode not supported
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NIGXFE0T
new gui version of ftp batch mode only

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q5DS5J9N

in windows 7 32-bit to me it works perfectly

mastha I have added you to msn when we talk eye to eye

oiaz froggy Smiley nice to see you joining xbh community, you are much more than welcome!
Congrats for your gui again, it surely teams up well with exiso, thanks for following my suggestion by adding batch transfers!
I've been away for the last two days, i managed to get it working under win7 by editing the files "hosts" and "network" inside "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc", it was some conflict within my setup (tks aiyyo for linux tips).

Sure froggy, i'm looking forward to that, hope to catch you! tks again!

The error is because you can not find the required file exiso.exe have to be in the folder of the application that for some reason you have lost.
Code:

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception:The system cannot find the file specified

if that is the case, why is it creating a folder on the 360 drive with the filename of a file inside the iso that is 0bytes?
also refuses to delete after.

The same happened to me, actually if you read the previous pages you will notice i was complaining about it to aiyyo, exiso crashed when transferring the first file, but it looked like i was the only one with this issue, so i tested it on some winxp machine and it worked, so it was something within my setup, in some cases as aiyyo stated you must edit hosts file in linux.. for exiso to work..
If you drop the same conclusion to windows environment, you should ''solve'' it..

"i managed to get it working under win7 by editing the files "hosts" and "network" inside "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc", it was some conflict within my setup (tks aiyyo for linux tips)."

Just add xbox ip address and network to those files in the first place, and comment anything else which might be there, it might need a restart, transfer hangs vanished since i did this!

It worked with me, i guess it will work with you also!

it kind of worked. i didnt change anything on my windows xp box after it wasnt working and checked again and it did work (was running the file off a remote share.. copying the app to local pc got it working)..
however, it did crash about half way through the first upload and killed my ability to FTP into the 360 (while the linux box was still able to connect).

had to disable and re-enable the network interface to get connection back.

Hi,

I have created a little interface for extract-iso for xbox 360.

E-xiso GUI

It makes easier to extract multiple iso with a queue list and a little FTP browser.
It allow to create a menu with Quickboot faster : you click one button and it creates local copy of xex that works with Quickboot from XEDev Team.

You can find all details in this post.

I find some e-xiso.exe issues can you take a look at that ?

- impossible to specify a different port than 21 in FTP extraction.
- application seem to make a little crash when FTP connection failed.

Thanks Smiley

for anyone in linux who forgot how to compile source code and install the program like i did due to being spoiled with aptitude and .deb packages heres a quick rundown how to use the source (tested on ubuntu 9.10 gnome). also, for a quick and dirty way to implement this into your gnome as a script read on.

take the source tarball (extract-xiso_v2.5_src_100122_by_aiyyo.tar.gz) and download it to a folder (ie your Documents folder)
extract the tarball using the command. first cd into the folder where its downloaded then extract:
Code:
cd ~/Documents
tar zxvf extract-xiso_v2.5_src_100122_by_aiyyo.tar.gz
enter the source folder and compile
Code:
cd extract-xiso
make extract-xiso
after its compiled, it should create a file called extract-xiso. just to be safe, edit this file to execute:
Code:
sudo chmod +x extract-xiso
now execute the file to make sure it works. it should output the command details and options/etc about the file
Code:
./extract-xiso
if this works, copy the executable to your bin folder so it can be executed from anywhere:
Code:
cp extract-xiso /bin
now go to your home folder and test to see if it executes fine from /bin
Code:
cd ~
extract-xiso
if it outputs the program details like before. if it works, all is well. you can test if it works by going to a folder containing a file with a 360 iso and issuing the command:
Code:
extract-xiso -x filename.iso

you can leave it as is and use it in terminal/shell only, or you can make a very simple script to implement this into the right click menu of your gnome by doing a few minor steps.
first, create the script in gui (for shell access only, replace gedit with nano):
Code:
sudo gedit ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts/'Extract 360 ISO Here'
copy and paste this into the file:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
gnome-terminal -x extract-xiso -x $1
save the file... and chmod the file with proper permissions:
Code:
sudo chmod 777 ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts/'Extract 360 ISO Here'

right click on an iso and there should be a scripts section. select the script extract 360 iso here and a terminal should pop up with the progress of extraction.

sorry for the long post trying to make it as easy as possible to follow.

Hello!

I made few changes in the source Smiley

"Added new command line switch (-s -> skip $SystemUpdate folder).
Try to create destination directory and display progressbar during the extraction."

Has anyone got this working on FreeBSD 8.1 AMD64? It stops at the following line after running 'gmake extract-xiso'.

Code:
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/extract-xiso/libftp-5.0.1.modified.by.in'
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/extract-xiso'
gcc -O2 "-lc_r" -o extract-xiso -D__FREEBSD__ extract-xiso.c libftp-5.0.1.modified.by.in/libftp.a
In file included from extract-xiso.c:247:
/usr/include/machine/limits.h:39:2: warning: #warning "machine/limits.h is deprecated.  Include sys/limits.h instead."
extract-xiso.c: In function 'write_tree':
extract-xiso.c:1966: warning: cast to pointer from integer of different size
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lc_r
gmake: *** [extract-xiso] Error 1

EDIT: Got it working by changing the line #8

From:
LD_FLAGS="-lc_r"

To:
LD_FLAGS=

Tested the application and it is working fine.
