First: try to connect via Terminal like putty, without Java GUI.

Maybe your Java Version is not up to date?
Another guy had problems with RXTX in Java.
Try this:

Quote
Note: JDK 1.4 will work with RXTX, but there is not harm in being up to date.

Install RxTx. This involves placing rxtxSerial.dll and rxtxParallell.dll in both C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03\jre\bin and C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin. It also involves placing RXTXcomm.jar in both C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_03\jre\lib\ext and C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\lib\ext.

Ok thanky you as always. Can I find you in another forum or elsewhere? I can't always connect to this site, a lot of time is down and I don't know if you read it or not.

P.S.: finally I was able to flash the ATtiny with a USB ASP programmer, very easy with it. Wink

You are awesome! I install Oracle JDK (initially I only have JRE), after that I copied those files from RXTX packages (both x64 and x86 versions) in the correct folders and... BOOM! Here it is the COM Port in your Java GUI! Thank you so much!!!

Now we (me and other friend) will begin tests with Butler!

Thank you for the link and email too! Smiley

Nice work! happy to see poeple are having the same idea Cheesy, also using the uart to log the boots of the xbox is easy and only require 2 wires for the data and 2 wires for turning on and off the xbox

We've been using this feature with the Glitch360Spi 3.0 rev B for a long time, we also made a Benchmark using our programmer in order to log boots of an xbox using the uart.
You can find all the informations about eRGH Benchmark here: http://glitch360key.fr/en/ergh/
Our benchmark waits either the xell or freeboot to load and will log each time as a sucessfull boot

Poeple using our benchmark can then share their glitch setting and upload it on our online cloud (http://cloud.glitch360key.fr)

Other members can then consult the cloud

Then find the best glitch settings for their motherboard and modchip

I'm getting values like this from the RGH Butler over serial:

5052481310          (this seems to be full timeout, 240 seconds?)
4956521310
49531310

How do I decode this into readable time?

I'm guessing the ATtiny 2313 code is using the 16bit timer, so it would make more sense in hex perhaps.

Have you tested your uart device?
You could test if Xell output is right.

EDIT: Fuses on ATtiny are right, too?
EDIT2: GND is connected between all parts? Xbox, UART, ATtiny?

Thanks for the help. I screwed up my string handling, in raw binary mode it prints seconds just fine.
