try putting the firmware somewhere else. it may choke on the special characters or the folder name length.

This is caused by file corruption. I did recover DVD key for a friend from the motherboard because the fw he extracted (with the track cutting method) got corrupted every 0x1200 bytes. The corruption was somehow random and even the DVD key was wrong within the file. Flashing it onto the drive would cause it to brick.

I have been using a nforce sata port  for the line cutting method and strongly advice people keep distance from VIA ports if using the trace cutting method. I never got that method to work correctly with VIA sata port. I don't know the reason why it fails but it's not reliable at all.

use the jungleflasher.pdf method and follow the exact instructions.

it looks like you have your switch in the wrong position, it can read the flash chip properties but not the date itself

boxddr method was not working for me, had to use jungleflasher method, but i did use the trace cuts from boxddr.

hi the problem could be that youre leaving the switch on read instead of putting it back to normal, if not try switching it off/on or on/off, whichever way it is, without switching power off and click read again

We traced down the data corruption here to issues with the 3.3v power supply on the CK3 board. I use a self made board and never had any problems while my friend uses a CK3 board. It's quite random and probably is something related to the regulator chips, not manufacturing.

Gotta agree with me that this hack puts the things a bit off the spec...

oh great...good to know but bad for all the peeps with the board...lol
well prob best to scope the reg and see where the dirt is then apply the "part" to filter it to a clean 3.3 volts or just revert to a well known working regulator...
this is of course if this can be done to the regulators...
sorry don't own one so can't try...

Thanks all,

I am using a Via and using a Xtractor to power the drive. I will try the switch toggle first, then try using the Xbox itself to power and see how i go, if no luck i will try get a SATA card other than the VIA

You have to flip the switch back after you get it into status 72.

I was wondering about it the first time I flashed the drive, it kept saying parse failed.  So flip your switch back after you get the proper status.
