convert x360 VGA cable to original xbox VGA

The original xbox never came with a VGA cable. I know there were some home made solutions and the Frozen VGA but I was thinking about converting an official x360 cable to work with the original xbox. Anyone know any reasons why this would not work?

To my knowledge the x360 VGA cable connects to the analog video out, though there are non official versions which work with the HDMI port. I imagine the analog cable would be the better choice to mod.

If anyone has done this before or has any advice before I find my soldering iron I would appreciate it.

The 360 directly outputs VGA. No conversion of any kind is done. You could replace the plug with an xbox 1 plug, but you'd still only get VGA by using a hacked bios with VGA support (which half of the time gives you a green image).

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. I believe my TV supports sync on green and my xbox has an x3 modchip - the x3 bios I believe supports outputting in HD (VGA).

i think you'd be much better off buying an original xbox vga cable
EDIT: just noticed.. not the original xbox vga, but the 3rd party. should be able to find one cheap. no sense in ripping apart a 360 one and doing all that work for such little output.
