Ok I have done a lot of reading but I am a noob so not much of this makes sense to me. No mod chips work for this kind of drive is that correct? But then most people say that mod chips are pointless that you should just flash your drive because it does the same thing? correct? However the Lite on drives are read only or something like that and can not be flashed? But now I read that there is now a method for flashing them? Is that correct and is that the only way I will be able to play back ups on my 360? Also I read that you need a computer with a sata plug or something like that? I don't have a computer with one of those, just a bare bones laptop. So am I screwed? Basically what do I need and how can it be done? I've searched a lot with out any straight answers. Can someone lay it out for me?? I would very greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance.

For all the reading you have apparently done.. You are lacking the answers to what I think are questions but your writing style is hard to follow.

My advice is to read some more as the info you need is out there and is very easy to find.

echoing no_name no research whatsoever if there was where the hell you reading??

heres a few tips

all liteons are dumpable and flashable

no modchip required

only way to play backups is flash drive

sata port required no sata no flash pcmia cards work look into a via type one

once setup google jungleflasher and read these forums for tuts on flashing etc.

dont ask for it all on a plate you will not get it more likely a flame war.

sata port required = you need a sata port

you can get a pcmia card that has a sata port on it, look for one that is a via chipset

but tbh if you cant even google all this stuff or even understand a simple sentence you have zero chance of successfully flashing your dvd drive

to avoid you damaging your drive and turning your xbox into a beige paperweight id sggest finding some1 local who will do it properly for you.

http://rs366.rapidshare.com/files/289633866/JungleFlasher.pdf

Download this file, it even has links in the pdf to guide you through it... If you cann't achieve it this way, than I'm sorry... You're not (yet) ready to flash anything and please do some more reading...
First tip if you want to hack/flash anything I suggest you put yourself a desktop pc together. For reflashing the drive you best use the via motherboard.
Laptop's are nearly impossible to use when it comes at interfacing with devices...
It's just a tip, probably there are people using laptops but I won't ever use them for hardware hacking or flashing :p

ps: Gazcoigne your sentence was a little bit strange, but I understood it Wink
