Are there and actual pictures of efuses? It's probably a stupid thought, but... here I go.

I've been doing some bga soldering recently, and I thought, what if there was a a board you could put between the motherboard and cpu that would take the efuse pins (actually balls of solder  Undecided) and redirect them to your own set of efuses.

I know there are problems with this, such as efuses not being available to the public (or at least as far as I can tell).  And you would likely get the rrod pretty fast from a setup like that.

Does each efuse have its own pin on the cpu, or do they get multiplexed?  If not, with the above idea, you could just leave the cpu key and dvd drive efuses untouched.

edit: Is an efuse just a resistor that changes resistance When it gets "Blown"?

efuse info: http://paris.utdallas.edu/ssiri08/Tonti_SSIRI_eFuse_V2.pdf

edit: I found a pinout of the cpu, and the efuses aren't that open, so I guess this is going nowhere.

efuses are completely internal, there's no way to access them from outside.

If you want to see what one looks like read the f***ing doc you linked.

Next time before spouting such $#!te as linking the BGA section with that of your own you actually f***ing research the topic at hand.

Arakon, I think your losing it.. This belongs in the dump more than most most topics do that and your reply is actuall nice O.o

Why do you think I put it in the board that said newbie posts welcome?

I had been looking it up too, but couldn't find anything on the pinout of the cpu.  Then I eventually found it and edited it into my first post.

jeez chill out  Roll Eyes
No need to bump a thread I pretty much called dead in the last edit of my first post.

I might have 1 or 2 nice posts somewhere.
What does post count have to do with anything?
If it was reset I would not notice.
