Xtreme firmware for Hitachi 47D Xbox 360

Let me ask godly C4E make like of ss-extracting firmware for HL too. Or just check my idea.

It's quiet strange - some ppl (including me) got near 100% boot ratio, some no boot at all.
Have to mention, all my backups are home made, never used downloaded SS.bins.

Reads Xbox 360 security sector from PSN 04FB1F (Layer 0)
Reads Xbox 1 security sector from PSN 605FF (Layer 0)
Flashes sector 9003e000 (Master Checksum)
Flashes sector 90035000 (Security Sector Read)
Flashes sector 9001c000 (Drive Response Table Decrypt)
Flashes sector 90003000 (Custom Code)
Flashes sector 90027000 (Challenge Response)

Flashing your drive
---------------------------
xtreme.bat automatically makes a backup of your dvd drive firmware called orig.bin.
Plug SATA cable from DVD drive to PC. Power cable drive still connected to Xbox 360
Ensure Hitachi drive is in mode b either by two wire trick or slax linux boot cd
Go to Windows
Run xtreme.bat batch file from a dos prompt specifing drive letter eg "xtreme.bat g"
All done!
Run restore.bat to revert to original firmware eg "restore.bat g"

Hitachi drive seems to be less tolerant of dual layer media. Try a few times to boot a backup.
Firmware for 46 version will be released soon but I cannot test it. Code is offset slightly throughout the firmware.

Just finished writing the firmware now, and had a problem noone else seems to have had.

Booted the drive with cross wire method to get it into modeB (light flashing), and booted in windows where the drive got detected. Ran "xtreme.bat h" in dos prompt, and all responses got done ok. Except for the "custom code" part where I got an error which said something along "Failed to execute flasher". I'm not sure what's included in the custom code, and I'm really not sure why this was the only part that got an error.

Have not tried any backup discs yet, but considering the error I doubt they will work anyway.

Just thought I'd report it.

PS Mitsubishi DL's are good for both TS and HL.

CAn't see there what to do so i can see the kind of hitachi drive i have :S

On opening 360 - i though it to be difficult, but it's easy as fook.

Main points - remove faceplate, remove sticker, remove both sideplates using [toothpick] sticking it into small holes (you will see locking pins thru the holes with good lighting), unlatch front latches carefully and leave front unlocked, next is MOST DIFFICULT THING, unlocking backside, look at back, turn console over so powersocket is on upper half, HIGHLY suggested to use 'tools'  made from bulk dvd plastic cover (look geebee tut), DO NOT use flathead screwdrivers - you will make scratches, plastic there is VERY fragile, i used ultrathin slim knife to continuously push it thru small openings till click is heard - 360 opens at this point, and you will see how strangne locking mech is.
Then unscrew long silver bolts and you're done.

Tried the files, dumped the origin.bin manually.

but when I tried the xtreme.bat it gave me this error:

Flashing sector 9003e000 (Master Checksum)...

It froze the computer for a while then got an error with:

failed sensor code 2

now it wont recognize the drive no more in windows. I have the orig.bin and origin.bin.....

Drive Hitachi 47DJ, I didnt use the XB360, I used the cable to power the drive directly from PC.

I opened tray, when power on the PC I crossed pin 9 with 0 for less than 1sec and tray closed.

any ideas?

Yea, you're a fookwit. HL needs additional lines in powersocket.
You HAVE to power drive from 360.

n00b
