other thoughts for others that have e79 errors:
1. My first e79 error was due to buying a piece of $#!t diode from radio shack. I simply used a different one and all is well.
2. Check for tiny solder balls that may have splashed somewhere on the motherboard. I also had e79 from that. Found the lil bugger and took it off. E79 gone.
3. take your time soldering if you are new at it. I learned how to solder in 15 minutes and was successful with my first xenon and now my first big block jasper.

using the new XBR ver 3 for xenon 16M I get e79. I watched the video posted a few links back and I get the same one red light(error code 1033 = xam.xex corupt).
flash back to regular dash....boots fine. old style blade dash 2858.
flash to XBR ver 1 and it boots to new 8955 dash NXE....but has the freezing problem. only other thing it does is the guide will sound like it opened but nothing ever happens till I restart the box.
flash back to XBR ver 3 and same...e79....xell works with booting with eject.....but no 8955 joy.
note: I do have a bad block at 170....and remapped with redline BB mover app.
Could the shifting be my problem also...and why would XBR ver 1 work if shifting was problem.
maybe I need to replace R6T3 and update to 7xxx dash and redump...then try again. or wait for XBR ver 4.
hopefully I'm not the only one with this prob.....my biggest difference is I'm on a XENON....so it's weird that I have the same prob as a jasper.
any direction will be appreciated.
peace, zil

Why buy one, when you can buy two for twice the price.

I also have the same problem. Did you read the KV with +r and wrote it back to the xbr with +w? oder just -r -w ? And did you remap "0x027D:ksi" or "0x027D" ?
