Of course, I understand that the old dash will not run this way. I ment just to use it to overwrite this new NXE one with it (to prevent E80 error). Moreover, I will not boot the console before I flash the NAND with an appropriate old kernel. And for the kernel part, I apologize, I ment to build a homebrew-kernel from a scratch using a cross-compiler toolchain, as described here - http://www.free60.org/JTAG_Hack

Even overwriting it will not work, because you still need to have the cpu key to even create the old kernel for the console, and then it will still fail because the efuses already burnt lock it out.

Hmmmm...if efuses are the problem and getting rid of the resistor (I forget which one it is) stops efuses, doesn't it make sense to take the resistor out of the equation and then put the old bootloader in? That would allow a hackable kernel to be put into play, hopefully.

Removing the resistor merely stops more efuses from being blown. Once the new bootloader is installed, the console is locked, period.

Come on, stop being so negative! This is nothing more than a giant puzzle just waiting to be solved! If we work together, we can do this!
Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way, though. Maybe instead of looking at replacing an 8XXX kernel with a 4XXX one, we should be looking at developing a hack that will work with an 8XXX kernel! It's just a thought I had, but maybe it might solve this problem!

Go right ahead then. But postings like this, saying "hey, let's hack it" are completely pointless.

It's ridiculous when people assume that nobody is looking for an exploit. They are, there just aren't any.

I'm not assuming that nobody is looking. I am indeed assuming that someone is looking. If there is a thread about that, could someone please post a link to it? Thanks!

So let me get this straight....I have an Infectus chip, timing add-on, and a Cygnos360. I got sick of waiting for homebrew back in the day so I installed all of this, updated to 4532 and dumped my 1bl, fuses, and cpu key. Then, I could not get it to load off of the Cygnos so I just let it update thinking that I could use the timing attack to go back. So now I am at 8xxx I guess with a CB1940 Xenon. I just hooked up a jtag and dumped it. Are you saying that even though I have my efuses and cpukey that I am stuck with a currently unexploitable box? I can't downgrade it? I can't run a different firmware off my Cygnos?

All you can do is unban your xbox if you get banned.

I'm just going to pull the cpu and build some new hardware. We're not paid enough to keep up with M$. Guess I'm gettin a PS3, maybe I'll be more likely to implement a linux distro.

Wow, what a useful first post in a thread that is over a year old. And for your helpful post, I will stick my boot all the way up your ass. Yay.
